'Shin Tennis no Oujisama: U-17 World Cup Semifinal' Reveals New Staff, Opening Theme, First Promo
The official website for the Shin Tennis no Oujisama: U-17 World Cup Semifinal (The Prince of Tennis: U-17 World Cup Semifinal) television anime series revealed the staff, opening theme, a key visual (pictured), and first promotional video on Wednesday. The anime is set to premiere on October 3 at 12:00 a.m. on TV Tokyo, followed by TV Osaka and TV Aichi.
New staff includes Yoshinobu Tokumoto (Darwin's Game) replacing Keiichirou Kawaguchi (Sket Dance) as director at animation studio M.S.C. Jinya Kimura (Shaman King (2021)) is replacing Akira Itou (Shoushimin Series) as art director and Yukie Irose (Kotarou wa Hitorigurashi) is joining Tomoyuki Aoki (Dr. Stone) as art designer.
Returning staff includes Mitsutaka Hirota (Edens Zero) as series composition and Akiharu Ishii (Shin Tennis no Oujisama) as character designer and chief animation director.
Rapper and singer Kidella performs the opening theme "Wake up," which is previewed in the promotional video below.
The original sports manga by Takeshi Konomi ran in Weekly Shounen Jump between 1998 and 2008. The sequel manga began in Jump SQ. the following year. Shueisha published the 42nd volume on July 4.
