Light novel label Gagaga Bunko announced a television anime for Hiromu's Chitose-kun wa Ramune Bin no Naka (Chitose-kun is Inside a Ramune Bottle) light novel on Friday. The anime series will begin airing in 2025.

Hiromu submitted the work for the 13th Shogakukan Light Novel Award in 2018 under the title Ramune no Bin ni Shizunda Biidama no Tsuki and won the Excellence Prize. Gagaga Bunko retitled the light novel as Chitose-kun wa Ramune Bin no Naka and began publishing it with illustrations by raemz in June 2019. The eighth volume shipped in June 2023, with the ninth volume scheduled for release on August 20.

Bobcat began drawing a manga adaptation on the Manga UP! application April 2020. Square Enix published the sixth volume last July, with the seventh volume planned for an August 19 release.

Yen Press licensed both the light novel and manga in English in July and November 2021, respectively. The sixth novel and manga volume went on sale on April 23 and June 18.

Synopsis
Insults aimed at Saku Chitose are a dime a dozen. Nicknamed "Class 5's womanizing scumbag," he is constantly slandered online by those jealous of his popularity. Luckily, that barely makes a dent in Saku's confidence. Outside niche internet forums, he is the reputable figure his schoolmates admire and a model student his teachers trust.

As his second year of high school commences, Saku reunites with his old friends and befriends new ones, all belonging to the school's social elite. However, the fun is cut short when Saku's homeroom teacher instructs him to convince his shut-in classmate, Kenta Yamazaki, to return to school. Wishing to wrap things up quickly, Saku visits Kenta's house the very next day. But the task proves more challenging than he expected when he discovers that Kenta is firmly and fully on the Saku hate train. If he wants to preserve his impeccable image, Saku must find a way to win over Kenta and bring him back to school. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

More harem romcom noice. The word Ramune instantly reminds of dagashi kashi lol.

Would have been excited if this was announced earlier, before I started reading the manga few days ago

@NewestPersonHere thank you for the details, that gives me a better idea. I will give it a chance!

@iwubanime

The first volume focuses more on Saku and Kenta.
Second volume focuses more on the black haired girl, I forgot her name.
Third volume focuses more on the silver haired girl.

I dropped this novel at volume 3. Not my type of romance, I really tried to like it but I could not.

This high school harem is about a perfect guy (great academics, star athlete, has a harem of most beautiful girls in school that boys call him a Manslut) going around helping other people and making friends.

And all the girls other than the silver-haired girl is already closed to him.

Romance is a trend now. Among the cute romance ones, the only upcoming one I can think of is Otonari Asobi. Most of them gets axed by the publisher within the first few volumes. :(

Always excited for another romance! Hope it is good.

Synopsis talks about two guys interaction. Image shows a bunch of women... I'm very curious about how this connects. Is this just a way to introduce his womanizing via another character? Also really curious if the title has any meaning.

I tend to prefer smaller casts with actual cute / romantic moments from my romances (ex: 7th Time Loop, Clueless First Friend, More than a Married Couple, Sign of Affection, etc) but do enjoy a good harem at times (ex: Hokkaido Gals, Temple, Goddess Cafe, Nisekoi, etc). So I'm sure I'll like it, assuming it has some nice moments. Recently finished Tomozaki and while I liked it, I didn't find it very strong as a romance

But I digress, guess we'll see how this goes!

Nice, I read volume 1 all the way back when it first released in English.
The first thing I noticed when reading it, is how much imagery the author uses to describe that town, so I hope the anime has some really nice visuals.

Watching normies interacting with each other is like watching Succession, so unreal.

Anyway, this felt like a more cynical Tomozaki-kun, fairly interesting.

@Softhenic03 If I'm not confusing anything, only male leads are indicated in the synopsis.

It's actually hilarious how this entire poster and that PV advertises five girls who weren't even important enough worth mentioning by names in the two para long synopsis.

@CocoaGalaxy Announcement of a new adaptation of the school rom-com LN, what else?

Im so confused what is going on. What even is this

So, another bestseller from "Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi!" has received an adaptation. I wonder what titles will be next and whether our “newcomers” will be able to maintain the same level of hype and interest as the works that received anime adaptations before? I would like to hope so.

@NewestPersonHere Do you think so? I've never read this work, although I hear about it often, but the synopsis sounds like something similar to Masamune-kun, only without the revenge element.

I fell asleep reading volume 3.

Not my type of light novel.
Not a fan of Gary-Stu protagonist. >_>

Saku Chitose is probably the biggest Gary-Stu I have seen in romcom LNs. >_>
