Web Manga 'Niwatori Fighter' Receives Anime Adaptation

The VIZ Media panel at San Diego Comic-Con announced an anime adaptation of Shuu Sakuratani's Niwatori Fighter (Rooster Fighter) manga on Thursday. The panel also revealed the main staff, a teaser visual (pictured), and a teaser promotional video.

Sakuratani began serializing the action comedy manga on Hero's magazine on the Comiplex website in December 2020. Hero's shipped the seventh volume on January 29. The eighth volume is scheduled for an August 5 release.

VIZ Media licensed the manga for release in English in October 2021. The sixth volume went on sale on June 18.

Synopsis

Well they are a part of the production committee, which means they are investors of the show and they own a part of the ip for the anime, which also means they receive a portion of the revenue that the show makes.

@MadanielFL wikipedia actually listed everyone you noted as producers. didnt know they work for viz. but every site i looked into only credits Shogakukan, Shogakukan-Shueisha. doesnt mean they were part of the actual production, only outside of asia. probaly bought themselfs in like netflix does it many times.

Wikipedia never lists the producers for a show and the MAL page is wrong, because MAL doesn't allow licensors to also be listed as producers, this is why shows like Sing a Bit of Harmony and Dimension W has to add info on the background section, because the licensor is also a producer in that case, and even MAL used to list Viz as a producer. https://web.archive.org/web/20240517220156/https://myanimelist.net/anime/54112/

We know the production committee for Zom 100 because all you gotta do is look at the list of producers and see who they work for, and the Zom 100 credits is full of Viz Media employees (including the CEO).
Momiyama Emi credited as Producer (プロデューサー), Louis Yenik credited as Assistant Producer (アシスタントプロデューサー).

Nah they were one of the producers, the CEO of Viz Media Ken Sasaki is even credited with Production (製作) on the opening.

I saw this manga in my local waterstones months ago and thought what a joke it'd be to make it into an anime, scrolled through the pages and actually pretty decent artwork. Can't wait for the adaptation to see how interesting it is now.
