'Mahoutsukai ni Narenakatta Onnanoko no Hanashi' Unveils Additional Pair of Cast [Update 7/18]

The official website of the Mahoutsukai ni Narenakatta Onnanoko no Hanashi (A Story of a Girl that was Unable to Become a Mage) television anime unveiled two additional cast members on Thursday. The anime is scheduled to premiere in October 2024 on MBS, TBS, and BS-TBS.

Yui Horie (Mahoutsukai Precure!) and Ayumi Mano (Date A Live III) are joining the cast as Minami Suzuki and Maki Kumir, respectively.

Masato Matsune (Nanatsu no Maken ga Shihai suru) is directing the anime with chief director Takashi Watanabe (Genjitsu Shugi Yuusha no Oukoku Saikenki director) at J.C.Staff. Hiroko Kanesugi (RobiHachi) is handling the series composition, and Mai Matsuura (Sirius) is designing the characters. Yoko Shimomura (High Score Girl) is composing the music.

The anime adapts Yuzuki Akasaka's novel, which won in Project Anima's Isekai Fantasy category in 2018. Akasaka penned the novel on the Estar website between March 2018 and September 2019 as a sequel to her Isekai datte Salaryman wa Iru. novel.

Project Anima is a collaboration between DeNA, Nippon Cultural Broadcasting, Inc., Sotsu, and MBS. The first winner of the project, Sakugan, aired in Fall 2021. The third winner, Mobius Dust by Doga Kobo, was originally slated for a 2020 premiere.
