The Crunchyroll Industry Panel at Anime Expo 2024 announced a television anime adaptation of sing N song's Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint webtoon on Saturday, revealing a visual (pictured below). The television anime will be produced by Crunchyroll and Aniplex.

sing N song originally began the action fantasy series as a web novel on the Munpia website from January 2018 to February 2020. A side story began in February 2023 on the same platform. Munipia has been collecting the web novel into 23 digital volumes from March 2021 to January 2023. The web novel has also been published as a 20-volume novel by Viche from January 2022 to September 2023.

Sleepy-C (3B2S Studio) began drawing the webtoon adaptation, with Umi (Redice Studio) handling the adapting, on Naver's Webtoon and Series websites in May 2020. A.Tempo Media has been publishing the webtoon since December 2020. The 10th volume was released on March 25.

The original web novel has been released in English on the Web Novel website and app, and the webtoon is being released in English on the Webtoon platform since August 2020. Yen Press licensed both the novel and webtoon under its Ize Press imprint for release in English in July 2023. The third webtoon volume went on sale on June 18.

Synopsis
Kim Dokja does not consider himself the protagonist of his own life. Befitting the name his parents gave him, he is a solitary person whose sole hobby is reading web novels. For over a decade, he has lived vicariously through Yoo Joonghyuk, the main character of the web novel Three Ways to Survive the Apocalypse (TWSA). Through Joonghyuk, Dokja has experienced secondhand the trials of repeatedly regressing in time, in search of an end to life-threatening "scenarios" that force people to act out narratives for the amusement of god-like "Constellations."

After reading 3,149 chapters—long after all other readers lost interest—Dokja finally resigns himself to the story ending. However, he receives an enigmatic message from the author, stating that the story will soon be monetized, before his surroundings suddenly go dark. He swiftly realizes that fiction has become reality and he is now living through TWSA. Although he is the singular omniscient reader of the events yet to come, his success in the scenarios is not guaranteed—but perhaps his advantage will empower him to step into the protagonist role that never suited him before. @Fabris ORV is NOT a Solo Leveling clone, it has nothing to do with it, they don't share anything in common. smh

@Raideroz-nim I didn't say that only positive opinions are valid. I just offered that if you don't like it don't engage that's all. I myself enjoyed Solo Leveling. Hell I'm even playing the new game. I'm not saying it's trash. Where did you even get that from? I also didn't say that you can't have an opinion. I just said if you don't like ORV don't engage in ORV fandom that's all. Don't like don't read.

Japan
Japan what are you doing
Japan stahp
Japan you've already scraped through the bottom of the barrel
Japan no it only gets worse from there

@asphyxia778

So only positive opinions are allowed? This is ridiculous.

Someone went through my profile, singled out one of my favorites (specifically Solo Leveling, FOR SOME REASON), and thought it would be a smart idea to attack me, claiming the show is bad and my opinion is invalid. This is literally the highest level of stupidity.

It's not anyone's fault that some people cannot accept differing opinions. You're free to enjoy this anime adaptation, but some not really smart individuals are choosing to react aggressively. Are you planning to fight the entire internet just because someone might not like your favorite show? It's insane.

You do you. I'm busy working and don't have time for this childishness. Grow up people and get smarter, seriously.

Btw, I didn't finish the novel, and I don't think the whole journey is worth it when you have to get through so much mediocrity to reach the good parts. I think it's massively overrated, and I will stick to that opinion, regardless of whether someone likes it or not. Because this is my fuc*ing opinion and I can share it freely.

@Raideroz-nim I'm new somewhat to mal so idk if this is rude but ORV's story is best experienced in the novel. Sure it will seem typical in the beginning but it all ties in together wonderfully in the end. The manhwa skipped several key things the main bring the vagueness of KDJ's features. I also enjoy Solo Leveling, it did bring forth the dungeon hunter genre into popularity. I've read the novel plus the manhwa. Hell I'm currently playing the game as well. We all have our opinions sure but all of us can enjoy our own fandoms in peace. If you don't like it don't engage that's all.

@Absurdo_N I just got the impression that Koreans are much more likely than Japanese to make male characters shipable with each other in titles for male audiences.

@RobertBobert

I don't know, I think they adopted the things that are successful in Japan and the rest of the world to be successful too.

Jul 9, 8:49 AM by Absurdo_N

@Absurdo_N Jump Bishonen Syndrome is even more common in Korea than in Japan?

Jul 9, 8:46 AM by RobertBobert

@RobertBobert

Very bromance, even other characters ship both of them.

Jul 9, 8:39 AM by Absurdo_N

@_cjessop19_ So it's mostly action ikemens doing action stuff with the rest of the stuff left up to the fans?

Jul 9, 7:32 AM by RobertBobert

@RobertBobert Barely any at all, it's mostly action and drama. I think one or two of the female characters does have feelings for Dokja/Dokja for one of the female characters, but it's mostly implied and hasn't officially been said out loud. There's been enough development in the story where romance isn't necessarily important to the plot (at least, as far as the manhwa has adapted to so far).

Jul 9, 7:23 AM by _cjessop19_

@_cjessop19_ But overall does it have any actual romance at all, or is it the type of battle shonens that is overly focused on Nakama Power?

Jul 9, 7:16 AM by RobertBobert

@RobertBobert There isn't really any cordiality between Dokja and Joonghyuk until much further into the series, it's more like the two of them being a nuisance to each other as their goals and actions conflict with each other, and Joonghyuk being an asshole at times because "he's the MC" in his story.

The way they are drawn in the novel covers, it's a given that many of these characters have different ships with one another

Jul 9, 7:12 AM by _cjessop19_

@Absurdo_N I'm not good at manhwa, is this another Korean action title with a bromance between two protagonists?

Jul 9, 1:34 AM by RobertBobert

I m excited for the adaptation.Its being produced by aniplex so I hope the ufo is studio behind this,that would be lit

@Fabris Ladies and gentlemen. What you see is an example of a typical fan of this series.

"Solo Leveling is bad and you can't have your opinion." Somehow Solo Leveling found its way into the discussion, as it always does. What exactly is it? Solo Leveling complex? Jealousy? 90% of the fanbase are Solo Leveling haters :V.

Let me tell you something though. This thing about "story" being bad or nonexistent, which you haters repeat everytime like a mantra. It doesn't matter. There's no such thing as story being complex equals a good / enjoyable show. It's only your own delusion. People can like a show for other reasons. Wow, who would have thought? Is everyone shocked now? :V

As for orv, I wonder where's the "good story" part? It's the same bullshit like the other shows this type (Solo Max Level Newbie). There's no such thing as connecting dots or outsmarting your opponets. MC literally knows everything and everytime he faces a challenge, he always pulls a rabbit out of a hat. How is it even a good writing ? It's boring af.
