@zero-r I liked the character designs in this title, but it is difficult for me to draw any conclusions due to the fact that this work is unknown to me and I first learned of its existence after the anime was announced. But I will only be glad if both adaptations can become something more and “give roots”, if you know what I mean, going beyond the boundaries of just another romantic show for one season.

Did Shikimori have any special problems due to high expectations? I liked manga and anime, although they weren't my cup of tea.

@zero-r Make Heroine definetily has what it takes to be strong from a production standpoint. Shōtarō Kitamura is a relatively new name in the industry, but his episodes on Kaguya-sama and Overtake shows he knows what he's doing.

And in general, A-1 seems to be really trying to push it as a priority, given how many in-house staff members it has.

@IzayoiSk Frankly, the one with actually most potential to become big is Make Heroine ga Oosugiru!. As far as romantic comedies based on LNs go, it is much better than Roshidere (and yes, I'm reading both LNs). Right now, Roshidere has the upper-hand mainly because of its popularity, but I wouldn't be surprised if Make Heroine ga Oosugiru! ends up outshining it later on.

Now looking at each other PVs, both series look great as far production values go (different styles, but great nevertheless). Still, I got to say that Make Heroine ga Oosugiru! direction (scene composition, camera angle and movements, photography) and actual animation work (character movement) is way better than what I have seen in Roshidere so far.

Also, the hype for Roshidere will probably hurt it as expectations will be higher (never a good thing). This is what happened to Shikimori's Not Just a Cutie (hyped to the end of earth, just to fall fat in its face)...

@IzayoiSk National issues aside, I've already miss the powerful school LN adaptations since the end of Oregairu, Bokutachi, and Rabbit-senpai's transition to films. By the way, is the original novel published by Dengeki Bunko? I could be wrong, but almost all high school anime these days are adaptations of rom-com manga.

Welp there goes my ability to resist. It's even airing on july 3 so its getting the jump on all the others.

People have been hyping it up all this time so I'm gonna be really disappointed if its not as good as they say. Still not entirely sure how or why though
And apparently they decided to pull some kindof stunt with the ed.

@RobertBobert I think so, if the key scenes are well storyboarded with the animation to go with it + a catchy OP + compelling characters for the romcom genre. There's a way it could create a buzz.

I can see a scene from the anime creating a meme in Russia.

@YourAverageHater An established archetype of appearance and mentality. For some reason, the Japanese associate Russians with mystery and complexity, and therefore portray them with external markers corresponding to such a mentality. You may also have probably noticed that this archetype quite often and generally initially had strange characters of mysterious origin such as clones, genetically modified people, spirits, etc. Compare this to the fact that American characters are more likely to be portrayed as blond tomboys with explosive tempers.

Okay, what's up with russian girls being depicted with white/grey hair, when did that start?

Well this is great news. I was already looking forward to this anime. Seeing the staff certainly got me even more excited.

@IzayoiSk Do you think this has the potential to be the next big high school hit?

As a person who studied Russian in the past as well as has a grandfather who was a Russian interpreter, this looks more than interesting to me.....
