An official website opened by production companies King Records and Shochiku announced a television anime adaptation of Yuki Shiwasu's Tamon-kun Ima Docchi!? (Tamon's B-Side) manga on Wednesday, revealing the main staff and cast. Shiwasu drew an illustration to celebrate the annoucement (pictured above).

Chika Nagaoka (Meitantei Conan Movie: 100-man Dollar no Michishirube) is directing the anime at J.C.Staff.

Cast
Utage Kinoshita: Saori Hayami (Spy x Family)
Tamon Fukuhara: Kakeru Hatano (Ore dake Level Up na Ken)
Ouri Sakaguchi: Shouya Chiba (Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e)
Keito Tachibana: Tasuku Hatanaka (Yubisaki to Renren)
Natsuki Ishibashi: Kouhei Amasaki (Tomo-chan wa Onnanoko!)
Kai Rintarou: Ryuuho Nagaoka

Shiwasu originally began the romantic comedy story as a one-shot in Hana to Yume in August 2021 before beginning regular serialization in the same magazine the following October. Hakusensha published the seventh volume on June 19, with the eighth volume scheduled to be released on June 20.

VIZ Media licensed the manga in English in February 2023. The third volume went on sale on April 2, with the fourth volume is scheduled for a July 2 release.

Tamon-kun Ima Docchi!? ranked ninth in the female readers category in the 2023 Kono Manga ga Sugoi! rankings. The manga was also nominated in the Shoujo category in the 47th Kodansha Manga Awards in 2023.

Synopsis
Idol group F/ACE has recently risen in popularity all thanks to Tamon Fukuhara—its handsome, wild, and talented leader. Seventeen-year-old Utage Kinoshita is one of the vocal fans who greatly admires F/ACE. As her life revolves around worshiping Tamon, Utage works at a housecleaning company to earn money and continue supporting him.

When her coworker gets sick, Utage is assigned to a new client with the same name as Tamon. She believes it is merely a coincidence—until she comes face to face with the real celebrity! Her surprise only grows when she discovers that, unlike the extroverted superstar known to the public, Tamon is actually a gloomy guy with no friends or self-confidence.

Given that Utage's adoration for Tamon knows no bounds, she vows to keep his secret and stay by his side—but dealing with Tamon's contrasting behaviors in and out of work might be the toughest job out there. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

I think it's pointless to ask why the Japanese are so fond of stories about characters who are forced to live a fake life because of society and their superiors. But if we return to the topic, do I understand correctly that this is one of those shoujo where the characters have trendy appearance and clothes according to modern fashion?

Always happy to get more romance shows adapted. But then I feel crushed when they only get one or two seasons and we never get to see a confession or cute couple stuff.

I'm rewatching parts of Marmalade Boy and even with all the drama, it's so nice to really sink some time into the characters.

But I digress,, this sounds like good fun.

@Memore - I like the female character in the Diary one but enjoy the title of the other. Both look good! Here's hoping! Thanks for sharing.

Good, I also want an anime adaptations of How I Met My Soulmate and Diary of a Female Lead: Shujinkou Nikki. These two shojo mangas are very good and that is how EVERY SHOJO SHOULD BE. I recommend to read them!
