'Uma Musume: Pretty Derby - Shin Jidai no Tobira' Unveils Additional Cast, Staff, Theme Song, Trailer

The official website of the Uma Musume: Pretty Derby - Shin Jidai no Tobira (Uma Musume: Pretty Derby - Beginning of a New Era) anime movie unveiled additional cast, staff, theme song, the first trailer, and a key visual (pictured) on Friday. The anime movie is set to open in Japanese theaters on May 24.

The theme song is "Ready!! Steady!! Derby!!," which is previewed in the trailer below.

Ken Yamamoto (Pokemon Legends Arceus: Yuki Hodo Kishi Futaai) is directing the anime movie at CygamesPictures. Tetsuya Kobari (Uma Musume: Pretty Derby - Road to the Top) is handling the series composition, and Kiyoko Yoshimura (Rakudai Majo: Fuuka to Yami no Majo) is in charge of the screenplay. Jun Yamazaki (Koisuru Asteroid) is designing the characters.

The anime movie following the story of the horse girl Jungle Pocket is part of Cygames' Uma Musume: Pretty Derby mixed-media project, where anthropomorphized racing horses as girls with exceptional running capacity aim to win at the "Twinkle Series" sports event. The project includes songs, webcomics, and a smartphone game that was released in February 2021. The smartphone game has a cumulative 20 million downloads.
