'Sand Land: The Series' Announces Additional Cast Pair, March 20 Premiere
The official website of the Sand Land: The Series announced a pair of additional cast on Monday. The anime begins streaming worldwide on Disney+ on March 20.
The first six episodes will reconstruct the anime movie featuring new scenes, labeled the Akuma no Ouji-hen (Demon Prince Arc). Episodes 7 to 13 will tell an original story written by Akira Toriyama which takes place after the movie, labeled the Tenshi no Yuusha-hen (Angelic Heroes Arc). The first 7 episodes will be released simultaneously on March 20, with an episode streaming every Wednesday thereafter.
Mikako Komatsu (Jujutsu Kaisen) and Ayumu Murase (Ousama Ranking) are joining the cast as new characters Ann and Muniel, respectively.
Toshihisa Yokoshima (Cocolors) is returning to helm the anime series with Hiroshi Koujina (Hunter x Hunter (2011)) as the direction adviser. Hayashi Mori (Ame wo Tsugeru Hyouryuu Danchi) is penning the script, and Yuugo Kanno (JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken Part 3: Stardust Crusaders) is composing the music.
The anime adapts Toriyama's fantasy adventure manga, which ran in Weekly Shounen Jump from May to August in 2000. Shueisha published the manga in a single volume in November of that year. VIZ Media licensed the manga in English and released the volume in December 2003.

The movie didn't air in my country, so at least I will be able to watch its episodic, extended format. Alongside brand new, anime-original content.
