'Okinawa de Suki ni Natta Ko ga Hougen Sugite Tsurasugiru' Unveils Main Cast, Staff, Teaser Promo

Production company Happinet opened an official website for the television anime adapting Egumi Sora's Okinawa de Suki ni Natta Ko ga Hougen Sugite Tsurasugiru manga on Monday and revealed the main cast, staff, teaser promo, and a teaser visual (pictured).

Sora began serializing the romantic comedy manga in Kurage Bunch in January 2020. Shinchosha shipped the seventh volume in July 2023, with the eighth volume scheduled for a February 8 release.

It's always interesting to learn about a new dialect. And from what I can tell from the trailer, Okinawa is very different from standard Japanese.

A romance dramedy set in Okinawa. Should be interesting.

Google Maps showed me that Okinawa is between China and Japan, so there is a distinct region/culture/language difference that should be fascinating if given room in the show.

き- ki ゃ- ya ん - n

That's why it's three. It's pronounced [Kiyan] and spelled [Kyan] because it's a proper name and also the name of a cape in Japan (if I'm not confused).

I know Okinawan has different rules from Japanese, but I still find it peculiar how three kanji can give something as short as Kyan
