Visual Novel 'Nukitashi' Gets Anime

The Nukitashi Dousoukai: Anokoro wa Wakakatta event announced an anime adaptation for the visual novel on Sunday. The anime will debut under the title Nukitashi the Animation.

Game developer Qruppo released the game in June 2018. DMM Games' localization team Shiravune published the game in Chinese and English in June 2023. Qruppo released the Nukitashi 2 sequel game in May 2019. Shiravune plans to publish the game on Steam and Johren this year.

Mameojitan began serializing a manga adaptation on Beaglee's Manga Oukoku platform in December 2020 and later in Ultra Jump in November 2021. Shueisha released the fourth volume last May. Kadokawa published an official anthology under its Dragon Comics Age label in July 2023.

In which case, there's only one thing to do: locate this mystery girl. And all while keeping the SHO off our scent, too...

MAL genre tags are added by mods. There hasn't been any official pv or news of the anime that indicates it'll be same as VN with H scenes. There has been other eroges adapted into as normal animes, the most popular example would be Fate stay night animes. I'm not saying they are gonna make this into a regular anime, just saying there's always a possibility, hope not though.

I wonder why Animefesta didn't get this. Its too extreme to even air on AT-X as is and an Animefesta release would've did this anime some justice over a TV anime, even though the airtime would be shorter.

@MichaelJackson More like the inverse of Shimoneta really. That one is about people trying to add sexual content into a dystopian prude society. This one is about relatively normal people trying to survive in a dystopian sex-crazed society. But nevertheless yes there is definitely resemblance, though Nukitashi is far more extreme given its eroge origin

As for whether you should try the game first, who knows, we barely know anything about how this anime will turn out like yet so it's hard to say. But the VN is great at least, albeit totally absurd

@RobertBobert I just see it like mode trend come and back forth and considering the number of anime per season increase over the last 5 years it was a only a matter of time before a announcement of eroge adaptation would make it. Not sure at all but I think the last one that got that much hype was grisaia a decade ago though I am not sure at all maybe other got adapted along the way but got forgotten.

It took me 15 minutes to come to terms with the fact that I was seeing an eroge adaptation announcement in 2024. I thought this type of anime was dead back in the 00s. Just how desperate is the industry becoming to find new sources to produce more and more shows?

@animegamer245 Fair enough. Tbh I don't keep up with MAL's announcement policies and at the time I didn't properly notice Kadokawa's involvement on this when I first saw it on ANN.

All in all I am just surprised this is getting a legit anime, since this would be one of the last VN I would expect getting one.

@Piromysl Wasn't announced, but Kadokawa is the producer which logically should mean it's a TV anime. It's just a bit hard to believe they could get away with that given how nsfw the source is, but maybe with some creative direction they can do it. Also this feels like way too big of an announcement to make if it was just a hentai OVA, going out of their way setting up anime twitter accs, a whole new website, dedicated PVs and all. Just awaiting confirmation I guess

If this really is a TV-anime as seems to be the case given that it's by Kadokawa, this has to be one of the most insane anime announcements I can ever remember. This would've been one of that last visual novels I ever imagined could get a regular anime lol, I loved the game but sheesh there's barely a minute of it that isn't nsfw

You basically have an island where according to its own laws, people are encouraged and even enforced to have kinky sex with each other 24/7, be it in public or not, all to create a liberal degenerate paradise that's funded by tourism from people wanting to experience the insanity for themselves. Anyone that refuses to have sex with someone that asks you would get arrested for disturbing the laws of the land. It's like an outrageous ero-comedy mixed with a dystopian society where non-stop sex is the only accepted way of life

I know Kadokawa has some recent precedent of at least airing stuff uncensored but this is a whole different level of extreme. Ishuzoku Reviewers is probably the closest comparison that already exists but even that isn't quite as in your face about it as Nukitashi is, so I'm not really sure how they're planning on handling this. But either way I'm still looking forward to it, the VN was great despite how utterly absurd its premise was, it just doesn't come across as something that ought to be airing on TV in the slightest lol

Also the synopsis in the OP is very misleading (typical L by Shiravune smh), use the VNDB one instead:

Seiran Island is a paradise where perverted sex is permitted by law. The transfer student Junnosuke is a proud virgin that steadfastly values chastity. He believes that there should be no sex without love, counter to the rules imposed on the island residents. However, those who do not have sex are subject to immediate arrest, fellatio and intercourse! @sowtte I see. If that turns out to be the case the "censorship version" will be completely unwatchable, as half of the anime will be censored (assuming it will be full-length episodes to properly portray/explore the setting). Even the other version I can't see how they could pull this off with butchering/changing the setting.

The synopsis here on MAL is so misleading to what the content is all about.
