I did not need to see that visual.

I'm not planning to watch it, but I can see this show having a huge chance to be a solid live-action adaptation. The source material feels to be perfect for this format, and the revealed cast for the main roles is decent.

Well, this theoretically won't be as hard to pull off in live action compared to other manga.

@Rpgmonger You mean the anime ? Then yes... It's a bit overrated but its decent enough

@Yubisoft My experience with live action adaptations isn't that great, but I've heard that a couple of Japanese adaptations of my favorite titles flopped due to otakus finding the "3d girls" not as cute as the anime version. Though personally, I don't think the Hyouka or Hymn of the Heart adaptations needed anything more than just being realistic.

@Yubisoft Jokes aside, but I think that as long as it’s not fantasy, but maximum magical realism, it still has a chance. Oshi no Ko isn't the kind of show where you need crap special effects, goofy looking wigs, and characters that look like chuuni. Although I can almost guarantee that the actor playing Aqua will steal any scene due to the cartoon nature of the character.

I am not a fan of oshi no ko but I recognize the fact that many people love it. So I think the oshi no ko deserves a Alice in Borderland and One piece quality and budget for the future live adaptations because the one above is almost 100 % guaranteed to be bad.

@Yubisoft I did and it was really bad. And yes you're right while I'm sure the actors and all the other working on it tried to make it work but it's not enough

I think the main problem is that Japanese productions of the live adaptations care more about who is currently the most kawai popular girls and hot guys rather if they can actually play the role good enough. Basically what Hollywood does in most movies and we have seen how many movies have been ruined due to that.

I choked on my water when I read your comment. Yeah, AVs are really dangerous sometimes 🤣

@RedChrome this is literally my reaction to like 95% of live action anime adaptations.

It's gonna be very ironic if this one turns out to be bad

Have you seen the live adaptation of Kakegurui ? If you did and didn't die from cringe then you may enjoy the oshi no ko live adaptation .It will most likely have the same quality because no matter how good the source material , most of the live-action adaptations are just not good enough especially the Japanese ones(no offense) because the actors desperately try to imitate the characters of the books and fail miserably etc ...

Ugghh it looks like a bunch of amateur cosplayers trying to make a film

When it says winter 2024 does that mean it will start in the next couple of weeks? or for live action does it mean November, December time?

Jan 24, 2024 2:41 AM by Reecey91

I wonder how they will do the first episode cause the anime did it perfect

Jan 23, 2024 11:09 PM by Chuckiemuffin

Ngl the first time I saw the article......and even and this moment it doesn't seem more than cosplay, feel free to quote me on this. But the One piece live action worked so let's see how it goes.*fingers crossed*.
