Manga 'Maougun Saikyou no Majutsushi wa Ningen datta' Receives TV Anime in 2024

Production company Happinet opened an official website for a television anime adaptation of Ryousuke Hata and Anajiro's Maougun Saikyou no Majutsushi wa Ningen datta (The Strongest Magician in the Demon Lord's Army was a Human) manga on Friday, revealing the main cast, staff, a teaser promo, and teaser visual (pictured). The television anime is scheduled to premiere in 2024.

Hata began writing the original action fantasy story as a web novel on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in February 2016. Futabasha acquired the novel and published the first volume under its Monster Bunko imprint in September 2016, featuring illustrations by KUMA. Futabasha published the fifth and final volume in April 2018.

Anajiro began drawing the manga adaptation in Monster Comics magazine in August 2019. The ninth volume went on sale in June 2023, and the tenth volume is scheduled for a January 30 release. The light novel and manga have a cumulative 750,000 copies of its volumes in circulation.

Synopsis
"Maou Army's strongest magician" I'm called. Ike, a demon capable of capturing a fort alone. Clearing away enemies with immense magic, he is without a doubt a monster awed by friend and foe. However he has a secret he can't tell other demons. "I, actually I'm human you know." Using modern knowledge to keep his secret, he became treated as a great commander and the driving force of the Maou's army. (Source: MU)
