'Shaman King: Flowers' Unveils Additional Cast, Second Promo

The official website of the Shaman King: Flowers television anime revealed additional cast members and the second promotional video on Tuesday. The anime is scheduled to air on January 10 at 12:00 a.m. on TV Tokyo, followed by BS TV Tokyo and AT-X.

Yosuke Kamogawa: Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Trigun Stampede) NEW
Yabisu Fra: Nobuyuki Hiyama (Bleach) NEW
Kanna Bismarch: Saki Endou (Pokemon Sun & Moon)
Marion Phauna: Kei Shindou (Boku no Hero Academia)
Matilda Matisse: Wakana Minami (Pluto)

Note: New cast members involved with the anime series are denoted with the legend NEW.

Nana Mizuki is performing the opening theme "Turn the World" and Sumire Uesaka performs the ending theme "Dear Pantalei." The opening theme is previewed in the promotional video below.

Jouji Furuta (Nanatsu no Taizai: Imashime no Fukkatsu) directs television anime at Bridge. Shouji Yonemura (Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu) is in charge of the series composition, and Mayuko Yamamoto (Saikyou Kamizmode!) is designing the characters. Yuuki Hayashi (Boku no Hero Academia) is composing the music.

The anime series adapts Hiroyuki Takei's supernatural adventure manga, which began serializing in Jump X in April 2012. Shueisha shipped the sixth and final volume in December 2014. The manga is a sequel to Takei's Shaman King manga series.

Kodansha USA licensed the manga in English in July 2020 and published the sixth and final volume in December of the same year.

@MahiaErebeaNegi Anime adaptations often include formal appearances or references to characters and events earlier than in the manga, because they adapt and frame a significant portion of the material, while the original chapters were released in "real time". This is partly similar to how Peter Jackson adjusted some things in The Hobbit to better convey its connection to LOTR, which did not yet exist at the time of the book's release.

Wait, they revealed previous Shaman King's character design here when the character haven't even appear on the manga yet (Aside of namedrops on Super Star manga)? Does this means they will add anime-original scenes/plots for the anime as well?

Edit: Nevermind, just now remembered that anime scene also happened in the manga as well lol.

So, they're literally working on this as a new season of the show, essentially even keeping the same cast and staff? I have nothing against it, although the character designs of the reboot still make it look like a regular seasonal battlel shonen.
