New 'Rurouni Kenshin' TV Anime Announces Supporting Cast
The official Twitter of the new Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Kenkaku Romantan television anime revealed four supporting cast of the Oniwabanshuu unit, a sixth promotional video, and story visual (pictured) on Wednesday. The unit, led by Aoshi Shinomori (voiced by Yuuma Uchida), will appear beginning the eighth episode on Friday.

Hannya: Ryoutarou Okiayu (Fate/Grand Order: Shinsei Entaku Ryouiki Camelo)
Beshimi: Hiroyuki Yoshino (Spy x Family)
Hyottoko: Fukushi Ochiai (Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san)
Shikijou: Tetsu Inada (Jigokuraku)
The reboot adapting Nobuhiro Watsuki's historical drama manga premiered on Fuji TV's noitaminA programming block on July 7 and will run for two consecutive cours.
Hideyo Yamamoto (Strike the Blood) is helming the new anime at LIDENFILMS. Hideyuki Kurata (Made in Abyss) is handling the series composition and Terumi Nishii (JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken Part 4: Diamond wa Kudakenai) is designing the characters. Yuu Takami (Rainbow: Nisha Rokubou no Shichinin) is composing the music.
Weekly Shounen Jump serialized the manga from 1994 to 1999. Watsuki and his wife Kaoru Kurosaki launched the Hokkaido-hen (Hokkaido Arc) sequel manga in Jump SQ. in November 2016. Shueisha published the eighth volume on January 4.
The original anime series by Studio Deen and Gallop aired in 94 episodes from 1996 to 1998. Aniplex released a four-episode OVA the following year that served as a prequel to the television anime, followed by a two-episode sequel OVA in 2002.
