'Yuru Yuri' Spin-off Manga 'Oomuro-ke' Gets Anime Movie Adaptation in 2024

Bandai Namco Filmworks opened an official website for an anime movie adaptation of Namori's Yuru Yuri spin-off manga Oomuro-ke on Friday, revealing returning cast, the main staff, an announcement trailer, and a teaser visual (pictured).

The manga will receive two anime movies, titled Oomuro-ke dear sisters and Oomuro-ke dear friends, scheduled to premiere in 2024. Each movie will have an approximate length of 40 minutes.

Namori began serializing the slice of life comedy manga on the Niconico Seiga website in July 2012 before moving to Ichijinsha's Niconico Yuri Hime magazine in February 2013. Following the suspension of Niconico Yuri Hime, the manga transferred to Yuri Hime@pixiv in August 2017 before switching to Comic Yuri Hime. Ichijinsha published the sixth volume in December 2022.

Despite watching 2 seasons of the anime, I never got why it is so hyped. Makes me a bit angry that it popularized yuri-bait SoLs even more. Whanever, good for fans.

Well, Yuru Yuri was never a relationship manga in THIS sense. This is primarily a good-natured satire on yuri tropes and yuri bait CGDCT. That's why hardcore yuri fans have always been salty because of Namori, including in Japan when manga became the most popular work in Yuri Hime.

Glad YuruYuri is back from this spin-off.
Hopefully YuruYuri itself will get a new season later.
