Manga 'Momochi-san Chi no Ayakashi Ouji' Gets TV Anime
The Crunchyroll Industry Panel at Japan Expo announced a television anime adaptation for Aya Shouoto's Momochi-san Chi no Ayakashi Ouji (The Demon Prince of Momochi House) on Saturday. Aniplex simultaneously opened an official website, revealing the main staff, cast, a teaser visual (pictured), and teaser promo.
Natsumi Kawaida (Hige wo Soru. Soshite Joshikousei wo Hirou.) and Takeo Ootsuka ("Oshi no Ko") are starring as Himari Momochi and Aoi Nanamori, respectively.
Staff
Director: Bob Shirahata (Hiiro no Kakera)
Series Composition: Yasuko Aoki (Studio Monad) (Kami Kuzu☆Idol)
Character Design: Mariko Oka (Jigoku Shoujo)
Music: Ayana Tsujita, Tomoyuki Kono (Romantic Killer)
Sound Director: Hiromi Kikuta (Mononogatari)
Studio: Drive
Shouoto serialized the supernatural shoujo manga in Asuka from February 2013 to August 2019. Kadokawa published the 16th and final volume in October 2019.
VIZ Media licensed the manga in English in July 2014 and published all 16 volumes between July 2015 and October 2020. The manga has also been localized in multiple languages, including French, Polish, and Mandarin.
Synopsis
On her 16th birthday, Himari Momochi receives a letter stating she has inherited a mansion called the "Momochi House." Having been raised in an orphanage, this mansion is the only thing left of her real family, so Himari pays no mind to the rumors that it may be haunted. Upon entering it, she meets Aoi Nanamori and his companions, Ise and Yukari, who all seem to be squatting in her new home. Although they warn her to leave the house, Himari vows to be the one to make them leave instead.
But soon, she is attacked by youkai and finds out that the house sits in the space between the world of the living and the spirit realm. Even more surprising, Aoi was chosen to be the guardian of the house—a position originally meant for Himari. But this great power came with an awful price: Aoi can never leave the mansion, and his existence in the human world has been erased. Ignoring his pleas for her to leave the mansion, Himari promises to help Aoi break the housebound curse as she begins living under the same roof as him. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

I just wanna know why this is the third series that I've come across of this kind, that has a replica character of Tomoe from Kamisama Kiss. like is it that hard to come up with a different character design lmao they all be trying to look like Him it actually annoys me lol. anyway I'll probably watch
Well if it's a specific type of ayakahsi, it would make sense that they look alike. Like how the gumiho will look the same or very similar in different stories both in live action, animated series, and webtoons. A lot less to do with Kamisama Kiss specifically. The plots of Kamisama Kiss and DPOMH are also sufficiently different.

Am sad to see the characters were recast. I really enjoyed Kenn in the drama CD and he acts so rarely in anime these days (╥﹏╥) That said, I think Ootsuka can probably do a good job of Aoi.
While I'm surprised this is receiving an adaptation (and at this time), I'm mildly optimistic that the anime could improve upon the manga content depending on the execution. Fingers crossed.
Does this mean I can still hope in my heart of hearts for a Colette anime?
