'Natsume Yuujinchou' TV Anime Gets Seventh Season

The official website of the Natsume Yuujinchou (Natsume's Book of Friends) anime series announced on Saturday that a seventh season is in production. The website also revealed the staff, a visual (pictured above), and a promotional video to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the first season's broadcast.

Note: The staff list includes members that have previously worked on previous entries in the franchise. The new members are denoted with legend NEW.

Brain's Base adapted the manga into four anime seasons in Summer 2008, Winter 2009, Summer 2011, and Winter 2012. The fifth and sixth seasons produced by animation studio Shuka aired in Fall 2016 and Spring 2017. The Natsume Yuujinchou: Ishi Okoshi to Ayashiki Raihousha (Natsume's Book of Friends: The Waking Rock and the Strange Visitor) anime film opened in Japan in January 2021.

Natsume Yuujinchou adapts Yuki Midorikawa's supernatural slice of life manga which began in LaLa magazine in June 2003. Hakusensha shipped the 29th volume on January 4.

Viz Media licensed the manga in January 2010 in English under their Shojo Beat imprint and released the 28th volume on May 2.

I so so SO FRIGGIN EXCITED!!!! Natsume Yuujinchou is my favorite anime ever, and holds a very special place in my heart! I'm literally crying tears because I've missed this series so much. The music totally brings me back. The nostalgia hits really hard.

I can't wait to hear Natsume's voice again. It's what started my love for Kamiya Hiroshi's voice acting.

This is comfort anime to the max TvT

Update: I did a lil oopsie yesterday and totally missed that the staff was quickly announced at the end of the 15th anniversary PV, so here they are! Theres not much changes anyway outside of 1 staff member.
