The 11th and final episode of the television anime adaptation of Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari's "Oshi no Ko" manga announced a second season on Wednesday, revealing a teaser visual (pictured).

Produced by Doga Kobo, the 11-episode first anime season premiered its 82-minute first episode in Japanese theaters on March 17. Regular broadcasting began on April 12. HIDIVE simulcast the series worldwide, excluding Central America, South America, and Asia.

Akasaka and Yokoyari began serializing the supernatural drama manga in Young Jump magazine in April 2020. Shueisha shipped the 11th volume on March 17. The manga has a cumulative 9 million copies of its volumes in circulation.

Shueisha began publishing the manga in English on its Manga Plus platform in April 2022. Yen Press licensed the manga in English in July 2022. The second volume went on sale on May 23, and the third volume is scheduled for an August 22 release.

"Oshi no Ko" ranked 11th and seventh in the 2021 and 2022 Kono Manga ga Sugoi! rankings. The manga was nominated for the Manga Taisho Award twice in 2021 and 2022 and the 46th Kodansha Manga Awards in the General category in 2022.

Synopsis
In the entertainment world, celebrities often show exaggerated versions of themselves to the public, concealing their true thoughts and struggles beneath elaborate lies. Fans buy into these fabrications, showering their idols with undying love and support, until something breaks the illusion. Sixteen-year-old rising star Ai Hoshino of pop idol group B Komachi has the world captivated; however, when she announces a hiatus due to health concerns, the news causes many to become worried.

As a huge fan of Ai, gynecologist Gorou Amemiya cheers her on from his countryside medical practice, wishing he could meet her in person one day. His wish comes true when Ai shows up at his hospital—not sick, but pregnant with twins! While the doctor promises Ai to safely deliver her children, he wonders if this encounter with the idol will forever change the nature of his relationship with her. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Up to you if you can't wait. But, given its extremely popularity, it'll be so hard to avoid spoilers so it might be better to read the manga. I've witnessed Kaguya spoilers left and right so I'm pretty sure it'll be the same for Oshi No Ko. I really wished I could watch this without having a knowledge on the source material but the spoilers would just kill my enjoyment.

Not very surprising. Oshi No Ko is the most popular anime amongst Gen Z in Japan I've read.

Also the most popular amongst 40 year old men from Texas who drive the Mizucara 😆

At this point, I'd be even more surprised if season 2 wasn't announced. I'm excited for the 2.5D Stage Play arc to be animated, one of my favourite arcs from the manga.

I am not sure about the next break-point for the season. The latest (and probably last) arc needs a season of it's own but it is not possible to cram everything else in 13 eps without serious cuts.
I think the breaking point will be chapter 80 (2.5D arc and the next one)
I think so to but the problem is, the next chapters and "cosplay" arc are not enough to fill the season. And making it a movie or adding it to the latest arc sounds illogial. So I wonder how they will make it.

With the current source material, they really could pull off 24 episodes... I really hope that's what we get.

I want them to work on more mature anime and less CGDCT.
Why can't they do both? We barely have CGDCT focused studios, and CGDCT is what made Doga Kobo.
There are studios that can also make CGDCT like A1-Pictures, Silver Link, KyoAni, Kinema Citrus and Pine Jam.

Even a supernatural mystery Ryoko's Case File Doga Kobo produced it. Idk why most people only knows that only SOL CGDCT could the studio adapts or produces.

Because most of those were made a while ago (Myself;Yourself, Plastic Memories, Ryoko's Case Files, Natsuyuki Rendezvous) or have mixed reviews (Ikebukuro West Gate Park, Yesterday wo Uttate), where as their CGDCT and SOL anime are more recent and are generally well received.
I mean everyone can browse or use google so...
