Manga 'Kanojo mo Kanojo' Ends

Hiroyuki's Kanojo mo Kanojo (Girlfriend, Girlfriend) manga ended with chapter 144 in this year's 25th issue of Weekly Shounen Magazine on Wednesday.

Hiroyuki began serializing the romantic comedy manga in Weekly Shounen Magazine in March 2020. Kodansha shipped the 15th volume on April 17, with the 16th and final volume scheduled to go on sale on July 14. Kodansha USA licensed the manga in English in February 2021. The 13th volume was released on April 25.

Tezuka Productions adapted the manga into a 12-episode television anime series in Summer 2021. Crunchyroll streamed the anime with subtitles and an English dub. A second season is in production for an October 2023 premiere.

Synopsis
After harboring an unrequited love for years, Naoya Mukai finally gets to date his childhood friend, Saki Saki. However, just as he tries to commit himself to this relationship, he receives an abrupt confession from Nagisa Minase.

At first, Naoya tries to reject her but is soon overcome by feelings of not wanting to hurt Nagisa. Trying to avoid betraying his girlfriend's trust in him, Naoya thinks up a "solution" to make both girls happy—two-timing. Naturally, Saki rebuffs this idea, but through Naoya's and Nagisa's persistence, she reluctantly submits.

With this, a three-way affair begins between Naoya, his girlfriend, and his "other" girlfriend, as they develop a relationship that deviates from the social norm. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

This was a fascinating series to witness happen cause the reactions to it this last year or so have been some of the absolute most entertaining stuff in this medium for a while, I havent seen this much concentrated disgust at one series since like gal cleaning.

Was a hysterical ride from start to finish. Wouldn't say it was always great but most of the time it remained quite funny and memorable. I'll miss it for what it was worth

Let´s face it, Hiroyuki does a quality job when making manga about stupid people doing stupid things in an unstoppable cicle, just like aho girl: it´s joke after joke after joke after joke after joke.... till suddently, it ends. The moment he brings drama to the table, I start caring less. I guess the reason KmK might gained more notoriety is because of the increase of the romcom trend lately, but seriously ,he should let that job to any other mangaka. I cant take his drama that seriously. Decent manga, by the way, but I hope he goes back to his roots next time.

what do you mean his roots? even his first popular works (doujin works) was more dramatic than this. and then he draw harem ecchi romcom (mangaka-san to assisstant). KmK is just right in the middle of both with pretty conclusive ending which we never had from hiroyuki series. Aho girl was just mangaka-san to assistant without the romcom.

One of the best comedy manga out there, sad to see it end and I hope hiroyuki-sensei can write an even better work next time

it was still league better than any author other long running works. also this author always has been writing harem anyways. i don't mind if it doesn't change.

while last 2 arc was quite rushed, i enjoy it more than i expected. well i guess i was used to this author up in the air kind of ending but kanojo mo kanojo has pretty conclusive ending. hope we get some extra epilogue volume like all of his previous works too! will definitely read author next work again! still one of my favorite comedy writer and KmK was one of funniest harem out there!

These are great news .Hopefully the next manga of this author will be actually good and not a massive disappointment like what Kanojo mo Kanojo was and learn from his huge mistakes he did with this manga and write a readable stories from now on ....

It was my greatest pleasure to enjoy this series. My favorite true harem rom-com manga. In the end, I hope Hiroyuki will come up with another banger of a manga next time. I wish the anime could have a full adaption, just to see peak of Queen Shino arc
