'Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card-hen' Gets Anime Sequel

The Sakura Fes event announced on Saturday that an anime sequel to the Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card-hen (Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card) television anime is in production and will adapt the rest of the story until its conclusion. The event also revealed a key visual (pictured).

Madhouse animated the original 70-episode television anime series from April 1998 to March 2000. The anime series also received two movies and special episodes. Clear Card-hen premiered in January 2018 and aired for 22 episodes.

The anime series adapts CLAMP's sequel manga to the original Cardcaptor Sakura manga, which began serialization on the Nakayoshi magazine in June 2016. Kodansha shipped the 14th volume on March 31.

Card Captor Sakura anime is so close to my heart, and it's something that truly means a lot to me since I grew up with it.
I hope the season 2 of 'Clear Card' is coming soon, I’m eagerly waiting for it. I’ve read the entire manga except for the last volume, and I just don't want to finish it before I know there’s something else for me to look forward to.
Even though I think the original anime had much more soul in it. The locations, the clothing, the characters, even in the expressions of emotions, Sakura's mindset, movement and technique in battles.
I especially loved the pigmented colors they used back then. It felt vibrant and magical ♡

Makes sense, the manga is ending any month now. Hopefully the anime airs next year.

Most April Fools gags have some outrageous detail that reveal themselves to be a joke. I don't see that here, and it's been added to MAL as an upcoming show, so it seems legitimate. And I'm definitely excited.

Awesome. I admit that I thought the first part of clear card was too slow and a bit lacking on satisfying Sakura and syaoran moments, but the original series is one of the greats and I’m looking forward to this.

At first, I thought when I did wake up, this could be some sort of an April Fools Day thing but now, it's official.

Welcome back, Cardcaptor Sakura.... this made me happy. The original Cardcaptor Sakura is my personal favorite Anime ever and can't wait for this.
