Anisong Artist Aimer Announces Marriage
Anisong artist Aimer announced her marriage to music producer Masahiro Tobinai on her official website on Sunday.
"Dear all, although it is a private matter, I would like to report it in my own words to the important people who are always there for me. At this time, I, Aimer, am married to Masahiro Tobinai," she wrote on Twitter. "I will approach music more sincerely, and I will continue to sing as long as this voice remains unchanged. I would be grateful if you could continue to accompany me on this long musical journey."
Aimer began learning piano in elementary school and imitated the singing of Ringo Sheena and Hikaru Utada at home. In junior high, Avril Lavigne's music inspired her to pick up guitar and write lyrics in English while living abroad. Aimer lost her voice at the age of 15 due to vocal cord overuse and was treated with silence therapy. She developed her distinctive husky voice after she recovered. In her late teens, she watched Satoshi Kon's Paprika and fell in love with Susumu Hirasawa's musical worldview, who was the movie's composer.
Aimer made her major debut with the single "Rokutousei no Yoru" under DefSTAR Records (late SME Records) in September 2011, which was used as the ending theme for the television anime No.6. She transferred to Sony Music Entertainment Japan's SACRA Music label under her own brand "nocturne" in September 2021.
Aimer is best known for performing theme songs for Kimetsu no Yaiba: Yuukaku-hen (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc), Zankyou no Terror (Terror in Resonance), Vinland Saga, Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works 2nd Season, and the Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel trilogy.
