'Otome Game Sekai wa Mob ni Kibishii Sekai desu' Gets Second Season

The official website of the Otome Game Sekai wa Mob ni Kibishii Sekai desu (Trapped in a Dating Sim: The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs) television anime announced a second season on Monday.

Production staff returning for the second season include directors Kazuya Miura (Kyuukyoku Shinka shita Full Dive RPG ga Genjitsu yori mo Kusoge Dattara) and Shinichi Fukumoto (Uzaki-chan wa Asobitai! Double assistant director), and character designer Masahiko Suzuki (Overlord II sub-character design).

Takeo Ootsuka (Kaze ga Tsuyoku Fuiteiru), Kana Ichinose (Kidou Senshi Gundam: Suisei no Majo), and Ai Fairouz (Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute!) will reprise as Leon Fou Bartfort, Olivia, and Angelica Rapha Redgrave, respectively.

The first season produced by animation studio ENGI aired in 12 episodes in Spring 2022. Crunchyroll simulcast the anime with subtitles and subsequently streamed an English dub.

The anime series, also known by its short name Mobseka, adapts Yomu Mishima's school fantasy light novel, which he launched on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in October 2017. Micro Magazine began publishing the series through its GC Novels imprint in May 2018. The tenth volume shipped on May 30, with the 11th volume scheduled for release on Wednesday. Mobseka has a cumulative 2.3 million copies of its volumes in circulation.

Jun Shiosato began serialization a manga adaptation under Nico Nico Seiga's Dra-Dra-Dragon Age digital manga portal—now Dra-Dra Sharp#—in October 2018. Kadokawa published the ninth volume on October 7. The publisher's ComicWalker platform also serializes the manga.

Seven Seas Entertainment licensed both the light novel and manga adaptation in English in April and December 2020, respectively. The seventh novel volume shipped physically on September 21, with the eighth novel planned for a December 29 digital release. The sixth manga volume went on sale on November 15.

The animation for S1 was really bad. The key visual for it already gave it away, but the one for this season looks kinda normal. Although the studio remains the same I'm hopeful about the animation.

hmm i wonder where the anime will end then, since season 1 adapted only 2 out of the 3 volumes that is the first arc, maybe season 2 will only adapt vol 3 then or (probably not but) 24 episodes for season 2 to cover vol 3 to 6?

I really enjoy the manga, the story is interesting.

If only the studio do something about the artstyle and animation, it kinda looks cheap.
