'Pokemon' Gets New Anime Series in April 2023, Concludes 'Ultimate Journeys' in January 2023

The official website of the Pokemon anime series announced a new television anime on Friday, featuring two new main characters, Liko and Roy. The new anime will begin airing on TV Tokyo in April 2023 (pictured above).

The website also announced Pokemon: Mezase Pokemon Master (Aim to Be a Pokémon Master), a collection of 11 episodes concluding Pokemon: Ultimate Journeys—the third installment of Pokemon (2019) (Pokémon Journeys: The Series) and 25th season overall. The anime, marked as the final chapter of Satoshi and Pikachu's story, will debut on January 13.

Prior to the broadcast of the two new anime series, a special episode titled Pokemon: Harukanaru Aoi Sora, is set to premiere on December 23. The episode commemorates the 25th anniversary of the Pokemon anime series and depicts the encounter between Satoshi and the mysterious boy Haruto.

Yes, he deserves it, I agree. It is simply that these news characters, they even create another one with thoughts that only one can't achieve Ash's level. are so dull and pale comparing to Ash and Pikachu.

The end of an era

I told everyone I knew that Ash was being retired now that he pretty much is a master, so I'm glad that his story is being put to rest.....Its gonna be a super emotional last cour of eps but I'm ready

Curious to know if this new MC is Ash's daughter tho

A part of me is happy but the other part of me is sad to see Ash/Satoshi be done. Watching him my whole life so it’s like an era has come to and end lol. But I do hope we get more stuff like Origins one day

I’m kinda hoping that it won’t be too directly tied to the latest show. I really want to watch it to see the conclusion to Ash’s story, but I don’t think I can catch up on the hundreds of episodes that have aired since the diamond and pearl anime lol

I have so many fond memories of the original Pokémon anime and Pokémon Advanced. I hope this new series will be able to provide fantastic memories for kids watching today ^.^

Yea I think it's a little to truly move on from him and Pikachu. They will revisit him. Either way the Pokémon franchise ain't going anywhere anytime soon

Wut? The forever 10 years-old kid's journey is actually going to end soon??? No way!

Joke aside, I highly doubt they would retire Satoshi/Ash completely and reduce him to a merely cameo for the new anime considering how much of a mascot and cash cow the guy has been since like forever. Let's wait and see how long he would stay behind the shadow lol.

The new MC's designs looks like they're clones of the Pokemon game;s avatars or something lol
