Publishing company TO Books announced on Friday a television anime adaptation for Honobonoru500's Saijaku Tamer wa Gomi Hiroi no Tabi wo Hajimemashita. (The Weakest Tamer Began a Journey to Pick Up Trash) light novel, revealing a key visual (pictured) and an official site.

Honobonoru500 began penning the story on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in August 2018. TO Books acquired the novel and began publishing under the TO Bunko imprint in November 2019, with illustrations by Nama. The eighth volume is scheduled to ship on November 19.

Tou Fukino began serializing a manga adaptation in February 2020 on the Comic Corona magazine. TO Books will ship the fourth volume on November 15.

Seven Seas Entertainment licensed both the light novel and manga in English in November 2021. The first light novel went on sale on October 25, with the second and third volumes scheduled for a January 2023 and April 2023 release. The first manga volume was released on June 14, with the second volume scheduled to be released on November 15.

Synopsis
In Ivy's world, stars are everything. She's a Tamer, born to subdue monsters and animals, but she was also born starless! With her life in danger, Ivy flees into the forest where she befriends a weak little slime named Sora—the one creature she can tame. Together, the unlikely pair set off on a journey, salvaging rubbish to survive. Along the way they'll win hearts, evade danger, and discover there's more to starless Ivy than meets the eye! Probably? The anime side is lagging behind the LN side.

In the LN side, the trend in fantasy setting is magic sword, most of time about revenge. Isekai era is gone. Lol
Most popular being Reign Of Seven Spellblades. It literally has the word 'death' multiple times in the PV.

There is a lot of cheat skills or demon lord / hero reincarnating thousands of years into the future filled with weaklings.

And unfortunately those revenge stories are very mid for the most part, so we have another low quality trend on our hands for LNs and eventually anime; although I wouldn't mind some RPGs that followed this trend though, as it will be a breath of fresh air for the genre.

As for this anime, it doesn't seem bad and the slime is cute; Ivy is a bit too boyish looking though, especially in the clothing department (that hoodie looks like something a boy would wear).

Its supposed to be boyish as she's disguising herself, after all she's pretty much a defenceless 9 year old girl

The Manga is really interesting so far, travelling around, selling animal meat while rummaging in town dumps accompanied by a lil slime

Its not like a lot of the tamer series where's she's super over powered, gets a harem or has a bazillion slimes to do everything and create a business

Sounds wholesome and comfy. Lil girl and her slime travelling around and surviving.

Ivy looks adorable. I hope the chosen studio is decent, and that the character designer can keep her design consistent.

This is a cute slice of life type story, with some elements of mystery (her slime is a special type and Ivy is a weak beast tamer). Ivy is a girl, but everyone thinks she's a boy and there's no romance (she's a child lol) so the adults are more so protective of her because being an adventurer as a child is dangerous.

In the manga, the current arc in the manga has child traffickers so some of the men there are being extra careful to protect her. She also ran away from home for a reason too, which is why she's hiding her identity.

Anyways, it's a cute feel good story! I'm excited for this.

The title and the cover pic kinda reminds me of Genshin Impact's Sumeru chapter story, which there is a part green-haired little girl named Nahida picked up trash named Scaramouche.

So basically this season's Beast Tamer, but with a female MC. I don't mind it ngl, I kinda liked Beast Tamer

If you count the slimes, then this is the third or fourth such show. But one way or another, BT is a fighting harem, and this is more of a loli fantasy.

UPD. Judging by the covers on the official website, as for a loli, there are suspiciously many attractive adult men around the MC...
