Avex Pictures opened an official website for the television anime adaptation of Masakazu Ishiguro's Tengoku Daimakyou (Heavenly Delusion) manga on Tuesday, revealing a teaser visual (pictured). The anime will be produced by Production I.G and is set to premiere in 2023.

Ishiguro began serializing the adventure manga in Monthly Afternoon magazine in January 2018. Kodansha shipped the seventh volume on March 23, with the eighth volume scheduled for a November 22 release. Tengoku Daimakyou placed first in the Male Readers category in the 2019 Kono Manga ga Sugoi! rankings.

Denpa licensed the manga in English in November 2018 and released the fourth volume today.

Synopsis
Within the safety of the walls, youths are raised in a nursery-style setting by robots. While life there may appear stale on the surface, the children are full of potential and curiosity. In many ways it is like a slice of heaven. The outside world is a hell-scape. It is almost entirely void of anything mechanical and is now inhabited by bizarre, yet powerful super-natural beings.

Maru, with the aid of Kiruko, is out there crisscrossing what was once Tokyo for heaven. But after searching for so long, maybe heaven is more of an untenable dream than a potential reality. (Source: Denpa)

Holy shit I've been meaning to read the manga because it's from the same mangaka who created And Yet the Town Moves (which is an absolute masterpiece btw, please check it out).

I hope the anime doesn't get the same controversy about trans representation as the original manga.

Synopsis sounds like a rip off of The Promised Neverland. But knowing how garbage that was I’m sure this one is better
Not even close, but I guess if you aren't familiar with the source material you might see it that way. The synopsis can't say a whole lot without spoiling something due to how tight-knit the story is written.

Read this one time ago but dropped it after a while since scanlations were erratic and it wasnt the type of manga you can read properly by getting chunks every once in a while. And yeah, it was somehow similar to stuff like TPN or Drifting classroom, but thats what made it interesting in first place, so Im giving it a second chance with this upcoming adaptation

Production I.g used to make amazing sci fi projects, looking forward to this one

Key visual looks pretty cool, remember hearing good things about the manga a while back. Production I.G is a pretty good studio, so I guess this is going to be cool.

This is one of the best manga I've encountered in recent time. If Production IG does it justice, which am I sure they will (sci-fi is their bread and butter after all), it could become a true classic (providing it concludes well of course). Character interactions, mystery, and just overall storytelling is brilliant. It's a story that really rewards reader's attention.

I thought of little gojo and little makima when looking at the key visual alone lol

It's much closer in style and vibe to Made in Abyss than The Promised Neverland. It's also written by somebody who knows how to write a good story.

Production I.G. is my favorite studio so I will watch this one.

For sure sounds like something we're all familiar with, though I hope the protag here isn't victimized by the plot armour.

I had a feelings this was going to have an adaption but now I am really curious to watch it

This is a really awesome sci-fi manga, so I'm glad that Production IG are in charge of the adaptation, I think they'll do the series justice.
