Light Novel 'Sasaki to Pii-chan' Gets TV Anime

A television anime adaptation of Buncololi's Sasaki to Pii-chan (Sasaki and Peeps) light novel was announced at the MF Bunko J Editorial Department Information session at the label's Summer School Festival 2022 event on Sunday.

Tomokazu Sugita (Gintama) and Aoi Yuuki (Youjo Senki) are starring as Sasaki and Pii-chan, respectively.

Buncololi originally launched the comedy fantasy novel on the Kakuyomu website in December 2018. Kadokawa began publishing the series through its MF Bunko J label in January 2021, featuring illustrations by Kantoku (Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko.). The fifth volume went on sale on May 25.

Oshou Pureji began drawing a manga adaptation on the Shounen Ace Plus web magazine in January 2021. Kadokawa released the second volume on June 24. Yen Press licensed the light novel in English in November 2021 and plans to publish the first volume on August 16.

Sasaki to Pii-chan placed first in the tankobon category in the 2022 Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! rankings.

Synopsis
Even though Sasaki's droll corporate life is constantly filled with work, it leaves him tired and unfulfilled at the end of every day. In search of some companionship to fill the emptiness in his life, he visits a pet shop on a whim, not realizing he's about to change his life forever. After settling on an adorable bird and bringing it home...his new roommate reveals that it's actually an incredible sage from another world who promptly bestows Sasaki with supernatural powers as well as the ability to cross between worlds. All Sasaki wants to do is use these newfound powers to live in peace and comfort, but there are more than a few colorful characters who might get in the way of that... (Souce: Yen Press)

Quite the synopsis up there, this should make for a fun watch.

Fact that this is an award-winning series and the cast lineup already looks impressive is a nice indication early up.

So, Isekai Ojisan's broadcast just started and we already got something similar lol. Well, at least it looks like something no less funny. I like comedies that don't take themselves too seriously and are like sitcoms.
