Light Novel 'Gimai Seikatsu' Gets TV Anime

The MF Bunko J Editorial Department Information session at the label's Summer School Festival 2022 event announced a television anime adaptation of Ghost Mikawa's Gimai Seikatsu (Days with My Step Sister) light novel on Sunday. The cast members from the light novel's YouTube video series will reprise their roles.

Saki Ayase: Yuki Nakashima (BanG Dream! 2nd Season)
Maaya Narasaka: Ayu Suzuki
Shiori Yomiuri: Minori Suzuki (Macross Δ)
Tomokazu Maru: Daiki Hamano (SSSS.Dynazenon)

Mikawa launched a YouTube channel for the series in April 2020. Kadokawa began publishing the series under its MF Bunko J imprint in January 2021, featuring illustrations by Hiten. The fifth volume shipped on April 25, with the sixth volume scheduled for an August 25 release. Gimai Seikatsu has a cumulative 300,000 copies of its volumes in circulation.

Yumika Kanade began drawing a manga adaptation on the Shounen Ace Plus web magazine in July 2021. Kadokawa published the first volume on April 26.

Gimai Seikatsu placed seventh in the bunko category in the 2022 Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! rankings.

Synopsis
Yuuta Asamura gets a new stepsister after his father remarries, Saki Ayase, who happens to be the number one beauty of the school year. They promise each other not to be too close, not to be too opposing, and to simply keep a vague and comfortable distance, having learned important values about men and women relationships from their parents' previous ones.

Saki, who has worked alone for the sake of her family, doesn't know how to properly rely on others, whereas Yuuta is unsure of how to truly treat her. Standing on fairly equal ground, these two gradually learn the comfort of living together.

Their relationship progresses from strangers to friends as the days pass. This is a story that may one day lead to love.

Hey guys, how is it incest when it is not blood related at the first place?? Having sex with non blood related step sibling can't be categorized as insect. It would be insect if it is done with half siblings because they carries blood of the parents. Don't misunderstand about the rightful things as wrong things.

The Japanese youth don't get out of the house much, so having a woman suddenly live with you instead of you getting off your arse and actually putting the effort in to meet any is a common fantasy.

If the complaint is "it gets boring as it goes on," then it missing content isn't the problem. If anything it would be a positive that dead air would be cut out.

No surprises here, Gimai Seikatsu has been talked about a lot recently in the LN community, and it's become really popular in Japan, an anime adaptation was just a matter of time.
I've been planning to read this one for a long time so maybe now is the time.

But of course all anime fans gonna be talking about is the title...

Hah.. >_< A couple of LN's that I've picked up last year have earned announcements this year that they'll be animated. First was Spy Room, now it's Days with my Step Sister.

What's next? Will Torture Princess earn its own anime adaptation someday? Or how about Tearmoon Empire Story? Anime when? Both of these are my favorites. :P

I don't remember seeing news on Torture Princess or Tearmoon Empire news. Spy Room has very high ratings in Japan, so it got an anime adaptation~

LNs have been really good since 2020..... It is very hard to keep up with the LNs nowadays~
I started reading LNs in 2016 and there are few good LNs at that time~

I just caught up with The Angel Spoils Me Rotten Volume 3 and my Plan To Read List gets stacked again. :(
