'Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan's Island' Announces Additional Cast [Update 4/27]

The official website of the Kidou Senshi Gundam: Cucuruz Doan no Shima (Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan's Island) announced six additional cast members on Monday. The anime is scheduled to open in Japanese theaters on June 3.

Cast
Johann Abraham Revil: Hiroshi Naka* (Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin)
Gopp: Naomi Kusumi* (Youjo Senki)
Elran: Hiroshi Shirokuma (Mobile Suit Gundam AGE: Memory of Eden)
Staff: Katsuyuki Konishi (Mobile Suit Gundam-san)
M'Quve: Takumi Yamazaki* (After War Gundam X)
Ulagan: Makoto Yasumura (Aldnoah.Zero)

Returning cast members are marked with a * beside their names.

Yoshikazu Yasuhiko (Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin) helms the movie at Sunrise, with Toshizou Nemoto (Macross Δ) penning the screenplay. Yasuhiko, Atsushi Tamura (Tenki no Ko animation director), and Tsukasa Kotobuki (City Hunter Movie: Shinjuku Private Eyes) are designing the characters. Takayuki Hattori (Kidou Senkan Nadesico) is composing the music.

The official website of the Kidou Senshi Gundam: Cucuruz Doan no Shima (Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan's Island) anime movie revealed on Wednesday a pair of additional cast, the theme song, second key visual (pictured on the side), and two trailers.

Yuuma Uchida (Orient) and Fuu Hirohara are joining the cast as Marcos and Cara. Singer Hiroko Moriguchi returns in the series to perform the theme song "Ubugoe," which is previewed in the trailer below.

Implying what, that you're prevented from watching part of the series until such time as another version is made? Or is this another case of arbitrarily forbidding oneself from seeing anything from before the year 19-whatever?

I'm pretty sure that this movie takes place in "The Origin" continuity, which differs a bit from the original Universal Century continuity.

I re-watched the original movie trilogy recently and TBH they hold up pretty well! If you can get past a bit of dated animation, I would say just go and watch those! IMHO they don't really need to be re-made because they're still good, but idk.

This movie has a lot of liberties taken, I don't recall any GMs in that lost episode much less the beginnings of the GM Cannon and GM III.
