Aniplex Unveils 'Engage Kiss' Original TV Anime for Summer 2022

An original anime titled Engage Kiss was announced at the Aniplex booth at AnimeJapan 2022 on Saturday, scheduled for a Summer 2022 premiere. The company also opened an official website, revealing the main cast, staff, an announcement promo, and a teaser visual (pictured). The television anime is the first part of the original Project Engage that Aniplex announced on Wednesday.

Shuu Ogata: Souma Saitou (Tensai Ouji no Akaji Kokka Saisei Jutsu)
Kisara: Saya Aizawa (Taishou Otome Otogibanashi)
Ayano Yuugiri: Lynn (Bokutachi wa Benkyou ga Dekinai)

Novelist Fumiaki Maruto (Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata, White Album 2) is handling the series composition and script. Illustrator Tsunako (Date A Live (Choujigen Game Neptune The Animation) is credited with original character design. A-1 Pictures is producing the anime series.

Synopsis
Veyron City—a mega-floating metropolis created from the discovery of new energy sources.

Shuu, a young man who owns and operates a small business in the area, leads a meager life due to his reckless spending. Kisara, a girl who visits Shuu's office and home because she is constantly concerned about him. She works while attending high school in Veyron City, doing everything from clerical work to housework. Ayano, Shuu's ex-girlfriend and a senior colleague at the corporation he had previously worked for, is also worried about him.

Thus begins the slapstick romantic comedy of three people in a slightly unusual relationship that takes place on an artificial island in the Pacific Ocean.

What a strange collab lol....I'm a big fan of Saekano but I could care less about Date A Live....Either way the Saekano side of things is the most prevalent here so thats a plus for me

The synopsis works for me too so I'm sold and the character designs are nice top which is another plus

Nowadays, Maruto is probably the only LN author who continues to follow his genre even in the scripts for the original anime.

Wow, the character designs are really great to look at from that image and those voices are really adorable. I hope for a wonderful story that would befit those character designs. Let me hope they won't trash them.

The guy who wrote Saekano and White Album series. The guy who illustrated Date a Live. Produced by A-1 Pictures. This could be good. Might give a chance to it. We’ll see.
