Synopsis
In the world of Remnant, humans and Faunus—human-animal hybrids—carry on their everyday lives despite the omnipresent threat of the monstrous Grimm. Dedicated Huntsmen and Huntresses battle Grimm with both customized weapons and their own "Semblances," unique abilities derived from the energy of one's soul. Some warriors also utilize a crystallized energy propellant, "Dust," to bestow their weapons with elemental properties. In this dangerous line of work, rigorous training is required to stay alive. To that end, each of Remnant's four Kingdoms have established schools to properly groom children holding aspirations of becoming licensed Huntsmen.

At Beacon Academy in the Kingdom of Vale, a promising group of future Huntresses make their debut as Team RWBY. Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna, and Yang Xiao Long each come from different backgrounds and often butt heads as a result. However, when they cooperate, they are a formidable force who have even attracted the attention of Beacon's headmaster Professor Ozpin. Alongside fellow students such as those in Team JNPR, the young prodigy Ruby and her friends engage in adventures which pit them against an extremist Faunus group known as the White Fang. Every explosive encounter also brings them closer to the true villains orchestrating conflicts from the shadows. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Never saw Rwby.
I was a fan of Red Vs Blue and Monty's own Dead Fantasy Fight series.
But never found Rwby to be for me.

Now finally, we can refer to RWBY(this one anyway) as anime.

This reality is a bad joke, in the past I would have been thrilled about Shaft doing RWBY but now I cant help but feel worried.

If nothing else this seems to be the real start of the story so it will serve as a good starting point for finally getting into RWBY for real.

Stick with this new one first, and then depending on how it goes, you can probably watch the original after

Oh Lord. So it was true, it really did limp its way over to being an anime. Well, that Shaft is dealing with such junk it is a rather comic example of like attracting like.

I'll give it the benefit of the doubt for now, on account of the fact that the cast's redesigns lead me to believe it's stepping away from the original story, and that's only ever a good thing.

This will probably focus on volumes 1 to 3 (maybe even less). The actual fall from grace of RWBY is around V6-8 (when character assassinations and protagonist centered morality go up to eleven).

Not to say that those earlier volumes were that perfect (Jaunedice arc drag, for most obvious example), but they had soul, and were a good enough skeleton for others to do their own thing (the multiple official mangas, this anime, not to mention 80%+ of RWBY fanfiction being V1-3).

Also the japanese kinda liked vols 1-3, yet vol4 had trouble getting jap dub, and v5 just got one last year. TL;DR, chances of anime!RWBY focusing on the current (sad) state of RWBY, like
are almost zero, as they are not spoiling OG show.

Saw someone on Twitter complaining about this because the EN VAs will have no input for this one, as if it's a bad thing. Having EN VAs having no input is the upside. I'm gonna watch this just because of that even tho I'm no RWBY fan.

RWBY becoming an actual, full-fledged anime, never thought I'd see the day.

Definitely didn't expect this. Welp, I dropped RWBY after finishing volume 4 but will still check this out.

...Is this reboot/remake, from S1 material, if I guessed right?

Dropped Rwby after S5 (last 2 seasons pacing was just not great, and fandom getting into a bizarrely rude and childish shipping wars and dramas from S6 and after actually reinforced my decision). MAYBE I will watch the first episodes, just for curiosity.

it's 2022 and anime elitists are still going out of their way to mald about rwby? lmfao

looking forward to this series, it's really cool to see how rwby has grown as a franchise

Now that this is actually an anime i might give it a try.

It's quite clear that a lot of care went into it's production just looking at that impressive staff list.

Actually looks pretty good from the PV, the character design is good too and the music is just epic perfection!!!

damn.

Don't know about story, but it'll have god like animation (atleast after they fix it in bluray).
I guess it's after a long time (if not for the first time) that Shaft is working with someone not called Aniplex.

I like RWBY already, but done in true anime style? I've gotta watch this.

Mar 25, 2022 9:06 PM by malvarez1

of course frikin RWBY would be animated by studio Shaft of all things...of course...why did I not see this coming? of freaking course.

Mar 25, 2022 8:32 PM by VivavideoUser2x

oh wow, I never expected this getting an anime adaptation. It's quite nostalgic since i watched the CGI animated one like 5 or 6 years ago. I don't know if I still like it up to this day because it gets pretty worse later from what I've heard from some people.

The staff looks packed, even TK is composing the op theme. That's double the points

I might take a look on this one
