New 'Akuma-kun' Anime Announces Main Cast, 2023 Release
The official website of the new Akuma-kun anime revealed the main cast and a second teaser visual (pictured) on Sunday. The new anime is scheduled to premiere worldwide on Netflix in 2023.
Yuuki Kaji (Shingeki no Kyojin, Boku no Hero Academia) is voicing the main character Ichirou Umoregi (Akuma II). Toshio Furukawa (Dragon Ball, Urusei Yatsura) and Yuuko Mita (Maison Ikkoku, Gegege no Kitarou (1985)) are returning from the previous series as Mephisto II and Shingo Umoregi (Akuma I). Furukawa will also voice Mephisto III.
Toei Animation is credited for the production, while Encourage Films (Isekai Cheat Magician, Etotama) is animating the series.
Junichi Satou (Amanchu!) is returning from the 1989–90 anime adaptation as the chief director, with Fumitoshi Oizaki (Centaur no Nayami) serving as the series director. Hiroshi Oonogi (Gegege no Kitarou (2018)) is handling the series composition.
Shigeru Mizuki published the original supernatural manga with Toshansha in three volumes between 1963 and 1964. He followed up with multiple installments in the franchise over the years. Toei Animation produced a 42-episode television anime and two anime movies in 1989 and 1990.

Interesting, a 60s manga by GeGeGe no Kitarō author is getting anime adaptation. Though Encourage Films is shit studio, i hope animation is atleast decent (still poster still looks good).

Toei continues to remake or reboot their old anime shows well afaik they are part of the production committee of said shows anyway
