'Tensei shitara Ken Deshita' Announces Lead Cast

The official website of the television anime adaptation of Yuu Tanaka's Tensei shitara Ken Deshita (Reincarnated as a Sword) light novel announced on Friday the two main lead cast.

Shishou: Shinichiro Miki (Gintama)

Fran: Ai Kakuma (Mushoku Tensei: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu)

Tanaka began penning the action fantasy novel, abbreviated as TenKen, on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in October 2015. Micro Magazine began printing the series under its GC Novels imprint in July 2016, featuring illustrations by LLO (Machine-Doll wa Kizutsukanai). The 12th volume shipped on September 24.

Tomoo Maruyama began drawing a manga adaptation on the Denshi Birz (later Comic Boost) website in December 2016. Gentosha published the tenth volume on September 24.

A manga spin-off drawn by manga creator duo Hinako Inoue launched on the Comic Ride web magazine in June 2020. Micro Magazine published the third volume on September 24.

Seven Seas Entertainment respectively licensed both the light novel and manga adaptation in English in January and May 2019 and published the tenth novel volume and eighth manga volume on February 3 and January 11. The publisher also licensed the Another Wish spin-off manga in May and released the first volume on January 18, with the second volume scheduled to ship on March 22.

Anyway, if it being Isekai was not already a death sentence, that girl has perhaps the laziest design I've ever seen. I'm bored looking at a still image of her, I dread to imagine the actual show. Pass.

However, it does not cease to exist after it stops coming out. Cleary you're under the idea of "ooh anime is just advertisements for the source material," but that is completely incorrect. Note the thousands of works adapted after they conclude, and the thousands of original anime produced.
