Wit Studio Produces 'Onipan!' Original TV Anime for Spring 2022

Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions opened an official website for a new original television anime titled Onipan! on Thursday. The website revealed the production staff, main cast, first key visual (pictured), and a teaser promotional video. The anime is scheduled to premiere in April 2022.

I never understood the point of wasting original show resources on regular CGDCTs or high school rocmocs, but if it's good then why not?

I mean at this point the AOT fandom mostly consists of people who are hardcore fans of the show (sequel effect) and you know how egoistic they can get with it. For them a good episode is a 10/10 and a bad episode is a 9/10. This might also be their last chance to "dethrone" FMAB since from what I have heard the quality of the manga dropped off towards the end.

The quality drops off when the rumbling starts. Most hyped part is the worst

The director has some experience with Yuri, I love to see that. Hopefully, this will have strong Yuri vibes, maybe even some lesbian kissing,,,,YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES

Tomita, Miyu is on my favorite list. Glad to see she have a role in this =)

Wit probably earned more from Great Pretender alone than what they earned from the entire SnK adaptation. Also there is the Pony Canyon schedule problem - except S1, all other seasons had horrible schedules which affected Wit even worse because they are a very small studio. Even in S4 Pony Canyon was giving them a pretty shit schedule which Wit realised wouldn't work and they just went "Ah f**k it! Let me do something else instead which will at least make me some decent money for the effort I'm putting in"

Bc Wit was crunched. They never had a great schedule for AOT, but season 3 part 2 was the worst scheduling they've ever had on AOT, so they dropped it. Season 4 would have been way too difficult for them to work on, especially with the other projects they were working on at the time like Vinland and Great Pretender. There was also the income standpoint, WIT as a studio was putting in more work into AOT and wouldn't get enough money back in return because the production committee swallowed everything up. Wit was originally founded with the intention of making original anime, and original anime are infinitely more beneficial for the studio than adaptations owned by other production committees, so they made a wise decision.

It does suck though how much AOT has degraded visually, because despite having a small staff and a bad schedule, Araki was able to turn Wit's AOT into an aesthetic and cinematic experience, while it looks like another typical seasonal under mappa.
