The official website of Date A Live IV—the fourth season of the Date A Live anime series—revealed two supporting cast, the opening and ending themes, and a second promotional video on Monday. The fourth season will begin airing in April 2022, following the delay from its original 2021 broadcast.

Voice actresses Hitomi Nabatame (White Album 2, Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya 2wei!) and Akari Kageyama (Himouto! Umaru-chan, Princess Principal) are joining the cast as Nia Honjou and Mukuro Hoshimiya, respectively.

Voice actress and singer Miyu Tomita (Bokutachi wa Benkyou ga Dekinai) is performing the opening theme "OveR," previewed in the promotional video below. Anisong unit sweet ARMS is returning to perform the ending "S.O.S"

Jun Nakagawa (Date A Bullet: Dead or Bullet) is directing the fourth season at animation studio GEEK TOYS. Fumihiko Shimo (Musaigen no Phantom World) is in charge of the series composition and Naoto Nakamura (High School Fleet) is designing the characters. Gou Sakabe (Date A Live) is composing the music.

Date A Live adapts Koushi Tachibana's sci-fi romance light novel, which he launched under the Fujimi Fantasia Bunko print with illustrations by Tsunako in March 2011. Kadokawa published the 22nd and final volume in March 2020.

AIC Plus+ produced the first season in Spring 2013. The second season by Production IMS premiered in 10 episodes the following Spring. The Date A Live: Mayuri Judgment anime film screened in Japan in August 2015. Date A Live III, the third season by J.C.Staff, aired in Winter 2019.

GEEK TOYS adapted Yuuichirou Higashide's Date A Live Fragments: Date A Bullet spin-off light novel into a two-part anime film—Date A Bullet: Dead or Bullet and Date A Bullet: Nightmare or Queen—in August and November in 2020.

Literally Shield Hero and Date A Live got delayed in 2021 and now both are postponed to Spring 2022 <- also very stacked season I gotta say, probably will dethrone Winter 2022.

New Shield Hero and Date A Live seasons make a stacked season? Holy shit what era am I in.

People have low standards, is that really something you've just figured out right now...?

Hitomi Nabatame and Akari Kageyama? Let's fucking goooooo!

Excited but all I want to know is how they tie in the mess that was S3 episode 12 and that's it.

S3 I enjoyed just as much as I did the LNs but that mess up when they should have made an original episode or made it 13 not 12 sigh.

Either way. April (also convenient time) is a while but if it's polished then I'm fine with that.

YESS everybody is looking good especially Origami, Kurumi & the new spirits 😍
Nice to see sweet ARMS back, their music suits DAL
sweet ARMS has been around since the very beginning, and yeah, quite liked their repertoire for the DAL franchise. Their songs have been so good over the years.

Ok, it looks MUCH better than S3 was, sadly because that final arc there deserved BETTER.
I m have to be greedy, after S3 I did not expect a sequel, IF they are doing sequels, PLEASE, DO a SEASON 5!

That is all that matters honestly, I liked Mukuro arc for sure, they are still investing like crazy on this series, you can't just stop now, I need Kurumi real arc, adapted, that was easily the best arc in the light novel, they have to adapt that for the love of god, stopping on S4 is major cockblocking...

I read the LN in 2018, I don't recall Kurumi appearing that much on the arcs they are gonna adapt, would really need to see an S5 for Kurumi to finally shine, like CRAZY.
The arc there, would explain her origins, give her tremendous development and just some really sick plot twists and drama.

That's a great news , but with the current rising cases of Covid-19 in Japan I'd say we don't get our hopes up until we see " currently airing " status here in MAL
