Makoto Shinkai Directs 'Suzume no Tojimari' Anime Film for Fall 2022

A new anime film titled Suzume no Tojimari (Suzume's Locking-Up) by Makoto Shinkai was announced at the director's new work press conference at the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo on Wednesday. Film production and distribution company Toho simultaneously opened an official website, revealing the main staff and a poster visual (pictured). The new film will open in theaters in Japan in Fall 2022.

Synopsis
Suzume, a 17-year-old girl who lives in a quiet town in Kyushu, encounters a traveling young man who tells her "I'm looking for a door." She follows after him and discovers a weathered door in the ruins in the mountains, as if it were the only thing left standing from a collapse. As if drawn by something, Suzume reaches for the door...

Before long, doors begin to open one after another in various parts of Japan. As disasters come from the far side of the doors, the open doors must be closed.

The stars, the setting sun, and the morning sky—in that place she wandered into, there was a sky that seemingly blended all of time together. Guided by the mysterious doors, Suzume's "door-locking journey" begins.

Honestly I am thrilled, I haven't been watching Anime for too long and I haven't seen any in the Cinema, my best friend Maia has seen plenty in cinema including my favourite anime of all time a Silent voice, so the fact I'm actually going to see this when it releases is going to be awesome and the fact I'm getting to see with my Maia is even better, I love you Maia (not in a sexual way lol)

Let's hope for the best... but too much hype may ruin this movie.
After the Tenki no Ko, Shinkai's work of idea is kind of lacking in my opinion.
Kimi no Nawa has made this pedestal for Shinkai for being too good story writer and as he announces any new movie, fans will get too hyped even though the story is so basic.
Shinkai's movies are good, I am not criticizing, but after Kimi no Nawa, Tenki no Ko was not anywhere near that spot.

Though I haven't watched Your Name yet(I will watch it soon enough!!) but considering how popular it is, I am kinda excited how this new work of Makoto Shinkai will turn out.
