Manga 'Paripi Koumei' Gets TV Anime for Spring 2022

Avex Pictures announced a television anime adaptation of Yuuto Yotsuba and Ryou Ogawa's Paripi Koumei (Ya Boy Kongming!) manga on Wednesday, revealing the main cast, production staff, a teaser visual (pictured), and teaser promo. The anime series, produced by P.A. Works, is scheduled to premiere in April 2022.

Ryoutarou Okiayu (Asobi Asobase) and Kaede Hondo (Zombieland Saga) are starring as Zhuge Kongming and Eiko Tsukimi, respectively. Tsukimi's singing voice will be announced at a later date. This marks the first time P.A. Works is adapting a manga title.

Synopsis
General of the Three Kingdoms, Kongming had struggled his whole life, facing countless battles that made him into the accomplished strategist he was. So on his deathbed, he wished only to be reborn into a peaceful world... and was sent straight to modern-day party-central, Tokyo! Yotsuba and Ogawa began serializing the comedy manga on the Comic Days web magazine in December 2019 and will transfer it to Weekly Young Magazine on November 22. Kadokawa published the sixth volume on June 14, with the seventh volume shipping on Thursday.

Kodansha US licensed the manga in English in May for digital release and published the fifth volume on October 5. The sixth volume is scheduled for release on December 7.

I read the first chapter and feel confuse. Did he reborn as baby and then grown up become adult in modern Japan or did he got teleported to modern Japan with body of an adult man?

Okay I'll admit. Premise is actually interesting. Though it seems like the guitar girl and reborn isekai-san look like they're made by two totally different designers. We'll see how well this even gels together.

People who claims this is a isekai anime doesn't know what isekai actually means lol.

Back on-topic, this anime sounds quite hilarious especially the part where Zhuge Liang/Kongming/Koumei become a producer of a idol agency lol.

As a Dynasty Warriors fan, I'm curious to see how Zhuge Liang will be portrayed in modern times.

That sounds funny as hell considering who Zhuge Liang was. Haven't checked the manga so don't know how they portrayed him but hopefully if he is as smart as he was in real life it should be a damn funny series.

Will have to check this out for sure as a big fan of that period and of Zhuge Liang.

That's a weird title they chose as their first manga adaptation. I wonder what they are going to do with the slightly more risque clothing the female entertainers sometimes wear. Looking through the manga they can become quite "sexy", which PA Works usually shuns like the plague. The story itself didn't seem all too interesting, but maybe it will be more to my liking in animated format.
