The Bungou Stray Dogs: Mayoi Inu Tachi no Utage Sono San event announced a fourth anime season for Kafka Asagiri and Harukawa35's supernatural action manga on Sunday. The event also unveiled the main staff and a teaser visual (pictured).

Staff
Director: Takuya Igarashi (Bungou Stray Dogs)
Series Composition, Script: Youji Enokido (Captain Earth)
Character Design, Chief Animation Director: Nobuhiro Arai (Hitsugi no Chaika)
Studio: Bones

Asagiri and Harukawa35 began the manga in Monthly Young Ace in December 2012. Kadokawa published the 21st volume on August 3. Bungou Stray Dogs has a cumulative 8.5 million copies of its volumes in circulation.

Produced by Bones, the first television anime aired in split cours in Spring and Fall 2016. The 13th manga volume bundled an original video anime episode in August 2017. The third season premiered in Spring 2019.

The Bungou Stray Dogs: Dead Apple anime film premiered in Japan in March 2018, earning approximately 550 million yen (US$4.85 million) at the box office. Crunchyroll screened the film in the United States and Canadian theaters in May that year.

Bungou Stray Dogs Wan!, adapting the spin-off manga by Neco Kanai, aired in Winter 2021. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan.

Yen Press licensed the manga in English in 2016 and shipped the 20th volume on October 5. Funimation licensed the anime series in North America and distributed the first two seasons on home video in March and September 2018. The company also released the film and third season last June.

The Bungou Stray Dogs: Beast live-action film, based on the stage play adaptation, is scheduled to open in theaters in Japan on January 7, 2022.

I'm excited to see my beloved Sigma animated in the new BSD anime! ๐Ÿ˜

I really love Bungo Stray Dogs so much but I don't like the fandom at all, especially the western fandom ๐Ÿ™„

I think the plot got too convoluted and lost the undercurrent of logic it had so. It's hard to really say what i didn't like without spoiling it for everyone else. The plot continuity was also compromised. It stopped making sense, tbh, even within the BSD universe.

That’s fair. I have to admit I needed to suspend my disbelief a few times when reading the series. I’m more excited by character development than by plot development now.
I feel like Dazai's character deserved a better arc, and development. So did Akutagawa.

What didn’t you like about the manga story? I think they kept the tension and stakes high throughout the next arc.

Very excited about this news. I finally caught up with the anime just last year after only reading the manga beforehand. The movie wasn’t too great but I’m looking forward to seeing the next manga arc(s) adapted.

...... I would have been very excited if I hadn't read the manga.... This is probably the first time that I wish they hadn't animated a series farther and left it as it is rn.... I hope they don't follow the manga and go anime original ....

But the manga is not a shounen, it's a Seinen for adult men.

It might be labeled as a seinen, but it's esentially just a shounen series at its core.

Not really. Shounen means "young boy" and it's mostly adult women in Japan who enjoy this series.
