Shogakukan announced an anime adaptation for two spin-offs to Gosho Aoyama's Detective Conan (Case Closed) manga—Mayuko Kanba's Hannin no Hanzawa-san (The Culprit Hanzawa) and Takahiro Arai's Zero no Tea Time (Zero's Tea Time)—on Monday. The publishing company opened an official website for each anime, revealing teaser visuals (pictured above) and an announcement promo.

Hannin no Hanzawa-san stars the black-silhouetted "criminal" that appears in Detective Conan representing the mystery culprits. Zero no Tea Time focuses on the life of the triple agent, Rei Furuya, also known as Tooru Amuro and Bourbon. Each chapter features one of his three faces, the private detective and Café Poirot waiter Amuro, the Black Organization operative Bourbon, and the NPA officer Furuya.

Kanba began Hannin no Hanzawa-san in Shounen Sunday Super in May 2017. Arai debuted the Zero no Tea Time spin-off in Shounen Sunday in May 2018. Shogakukan will publish the sixth and fifth volume of each on October 18, respectively.

I read both of the original stories. Personally, I like the content of "Hannin no Hanzawa-san" and I'm looking forward to the anime.

It's pretty funny to see the franchise get more and more new parts while I'm still trying to get to the second hundred episodes of the original series.

Well tbh if you're picky you're likely to stop before anywhere close to that, I just had to drop the anime at about ep 642 and moved to manga. So if that makes it any less daunting lol, you can also only watch the "canon" episodes.

Anyway, I wonder if something big is happening with the anime since all these spin-offs are appearing :0 would be great to see the anime go back to being well- less ugly and censored

Last time I heard they started making anniversary remakes of iconic episodes.

Both of them and previously announced Police School Arc anime adaptations are all part of main manga series 100th volume release commemorative project.

Same but I never closely followed Detective Conan and was only aware of the anime/manga and then the Magic Kaito spin off

I'll give these a shot since I really enjoyed Kaito which was also a spinoff

Magic Kaito is actually not a spin off. It's Aoyama Gosho's first manga, started in 1987 (and still ongoing, though you get one story every 3 to 5 years). Because Kid's guest appearances in Conan is more popular than his own series, people tend to forget that.
I guess this is the "John Wick from Fortnite" meme that came true.
Oh wow, I had no idea that was the case...I truly learn something new every day lol

So we're gonna get 3 of them? What a time to be alive.

Yeah seems like it, I forgot about that one, indeed it's a great time to be a Conan fan.

We heard about the Amuro spin-off announcement a few months ago and I knew there was another spin-off about the silhouette culprit, but not that it would receive an anime adaptation as well. Nice.

Looking forward to both. Heard about Hannin no Hanzawa-san a couple years ago. At first I thought "The silhouette is the protagonist?". A bit peculiar, but it looks like it will be entertaining to some degree.

Fuck Amuro and his fujo enablers for singlehandedly ruining a great series like Detective Conan.
Hannin no Hanzawa-san on the other hand is perhaps the greatest spin-off to ever come out of this show! Absolutely hilarious take on the Conan universe!
