'Tsuki ga Michibiku Isekai Douchuu' Gets 2nd Season
The 12th and final episode of the Tsuki ga Michibiku Isekai Douchuu (Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy) television anime ended with a second season announcement on Wednesday. The official website revealed an announcement promo and a commemorative visual (pictured above).
The anime series, produced by animation studio C2C, began airing on July 7. Crunchyroll streamed the anime with subtitles as it aired in Japan.
Tsuki ga Michibiku Isekai Douchuu, also known as Tsukimichi, adapts Kei Azumi's adventure fantasy novel, which they originally penned on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website from February 2012 to August 2016, and concurrently switched it to AlphaPolis in July 2016. The latter began publishing the series in May 2013 with illustrations by Mitsuaki Matsumoto and released the 16th volume on June 30. Tsukimichi has a cumulative 2 million copies of its volumes in print.
Kotora Kino began drawing a manga adaptation in AlphaPolis Web Manga magazine in June 2015. The eighth shipped last October.
Synopsis
As part of a mysterious contract agreed upon by a goddess and his parents years ago, Makoto Misumi finds himself sent to another world to meet the goddess and become the hero. However, the deity deems Makoto to be "hideous," refusing to even lay eyes upon him and revokes his heroic title. Disdainfully giving him the ability to understand all languages except the human language as compensation, the goddess drives Makoto off to the farthest edges of the wasteland, far from human civilization.
Due to the disparity between Earth and this new world, Makoto's inherent physical and magical capabilities awaken, making him extremely powerful. He meets various demihumans and mythical beings who all end up being captivated with his characteristics and join Makoto in building a new community where all of them can peacefully coexist.
Nevertheless, despite this success, Makoto still yearns to meet fellow humans. In a world where the goddess herself has barred him from interacting with his kind, it is up to Makoto and his companions to fulfill his desire—and perhaps reform society along the way. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

The only issue with a season 2 being announced is I cant decide if I should go ahead and read the light novels for it now. Reading the Light novels tends to ruin the experience of the anime from my previous experience so its a tough choice.

Season 1 was a rushfest. If they had already planned a S2 and are not airing this solely as some advertisement for the LN, why did they skip and cut so much?
That botched world-building can poison the sequels too.
maybe because they didn't plan it in the first place?
this is just my opinion but I thought maybe this anime was originally made just as an advertisement for the light novel volume 15, but this anime surprisingly became famous enough that the production team decided to make a season 2.
Unless I'm wrong and this anime is actually streamed on niconico, there's no way. There's no sales yet to even determine if it was a success.
Every anime that got a 2nd season announcement at the end of the last episode means that it was planned from the beginning.

Were some of the events and scenes better depicted in the manga? Yes but I'm thankful that the anime ended up being more than just a list of events to check off (looking at you Seirei Gensouki). It is an anime adaption. The show is a separate piece of work and should be able to stand on its own without telling the viewer to go read the manga. Needless to say, I'm excited for the next season. Hope that we get those light novels in official English too.

It cut stuff but the novel itself is bloated and stalls too much anyways.

Well, a Russian blogger I know suggested that the show scored above 7 due to an overall weak season and that "in good times" it could quickly become "so bad that good."
Ooh, that's an interesting take. I myself think this season is so-so, and instead, fall 2021 will be the one on the weaker side. But depending on which side of anime genres you're on, i can definitely see why this season can be called weak in overall. So the Russian blogger might up to something there.
Yeah, preferred genres can really make the season go weak and vice versa.

This is only my opinion on it but maybe those who hate this anime is probably because it's just another generic isekai, which is not completely untrue. While those who likes it is probably just like me, who gives it a try with an open mind or low expectations but ended up finding it very enjoyable despite being "generic".

Ooooh, this is a really good news. I actually really like this isekai. Hope they'll keep the quality on S2 too~
(I'm a bit worried since they changed a few things from the manga there on the last part.)
Why does this show have such polarizing reviews? Some of my acquaintances literally hate this anime, while others advised me to watch this show for the very first in the season.

i was already happy that they skipped the other two heroes story for this season, now they confirmed 2nd season and i have a bad feeling that it will be focusing on those two heroes
If they do 24 episode count season 2 and give us more detail here and there we could be looking at a really good season 2 that gives us more info on the other heroes and about the world. I personally loved this anime since the characters are fun and well drawn imo. Hopefully they advertise this anime more and release English translations for the western audience, would really help bring more money and attention to this series which would result in more seasons. EVERYONE WHOS A FAN PLEASE SUPPORT THIS SHOW WITH EVERYTHING YOUVE GOT!!!! 🙏🙏
