The official website of the Ikkitousen anime series announced a television anime adaptation of Yuji Shiozaki's Shin Ikkitousen (New Battle Vixens) sequel manga on Friday. The anime series is scheduled to air on AT-X in 2022.

Yuji launched the original Ikkitousen (Battle Vixens) manga in Monthly Comic Gum in April 2000 before transferring to its web version in May 2015 due to the magazine's ceasing publication. The manga ended with 24 volumes in August that year.

Young King OURs began serializing the sequel manga in November 2015. Shounen Gahousha published the fourth and latest volume last March.

The first television anime by J.C.Staff aired in 13 episodes in Summer 2003. Arms produced the second and third seasons in Winter 2007 and Summer 2008.

TNK co-produced the fourth season with Arms in Spring 2010. Kadokawa released three OVAs through its Media Factory label between November 2011 and December 2014. The latest anime installment in the franchise, Ikkitousen: Western Wolves, ran for three episodes in January and February 2019.

One might say...to hell with it?

Imma fix wolves eventually. Steam got a lot more use than Vegas after buying a $4,000 PC two years ago.
I should get around to watching that at some point.

Ironic that you mention spending more time with Steam though. Inversely I've rebuilt mine 2 times over in the last 4 years for the purpose of maintaining it for gaming and yet I've probably spent more time with audio editing.
I see that Coming Curse thumbnail on the deck though. Never realized you were a Disciple of the Watch my dude.

Ikkitousen is such a 2000s franchise, it's weird to see it return.

We do get Shaman King remake currently airing right now so it's not even that weird.

You say it a week after the adaptation of the Fruit Basket is over, lol.

Fruits Basket is a bit more timeless, IMO. Ikki Tousen kinda represents a school-battle-fanservice style that hasn't been in vogue in years.

Didn't even know there was a sequel to Ikkitousen, could be good or bad.

Bruh i'm pretty sure that half of the manga isn't even translated, xD

A question for anime watchers — is the anime an accurate adaptation of the manga, or a different take? I was gonna watch it anyway, but I'm curious.

Anyway, I like to see a resurgence of 2000s anime. I better see Love Hina (2022) damn it.

As far as I remember, it was mostly accurate except for some scenes. But the show's license came out at a time when the Americans were not afraid to change the dub for some of their own purposes. For example, they once made one scene much more problematic than it was in the original.

YES! Great news I've heard in a long time, just when I was about to give up on anime.

I wonder who will produce it this time around as Arms went bankrupt like last year. Probably TNK I guess

edit: nvm Arms will be returning again as the animation studio

It sure has been long time, this is a really nice surprise

How different is the sequel from the original series? Is this again classic pantsu fighting with a bunch of lewd fanservices?

Jul 2, 2021 10:28 AM by RobertBobert

I do hope this lands to a competent studio or a staff that can follow through its action scenes. Ikkitousen has been a guilty pleasure of mine and it pretty has its good balance between combat and smut.

How Arms treated it after Great Guardians were as horrible as how they did Queen's Blade. Western Wolves was pretty acceptable as a return to form but then Arms went bankrupt as soon as it ended.

At last some more quality ecchi. The last few seasons have been pathetic.

YAAAAAASSSSS, more Ikkitousen, and a TV series instead of an OVA like the last couple ones.
