damn I really need to start watching the Gundam series, too bad there’s so many different spin offs so I don’t even know the proper watch order
This flowchart thingy will help you in understanding the chronological order of all different timelines in Gundam Franchise. I went with 0079 first and completed all of UC timeline (-reconguista) first then went for others. I enjoyed it but I was completely burnt out by the end.

Hopefully game is on a console, especially the Switch.

I initially dismissed gunpla anime but some of them turned out to be real gems and one of them is the worst entry in the franchise but we don't talk about that so I have some faith.
Also Masami Oobari is a talented dude.

I'd rec Gundam 00 as your first Gundam personally. It's entirely self contained, and is easily some of the best stuff to come out of Gundam coming from someone who's watched most Gundam shows.

There is no proper watch order for the entire Gundam franchise, just watch orders for specific series within the franchise, since a lot of the spinoffs take place in continuities that have no relation to the original Gundam (1979) continuity.

The best part of the Gundam franchise is that you can watch different Gundam's without having to watch other series, if you're interested.
