And i just gotta sau that even though i know it's best to keep expectations down usually... Madoka Magica is a fucking 10/10 anime, the only one id rate that high. Probably my single favorite Piece of Media. Rebellion is the continuation of that and it really is an interesting different look at the story the way we already knew it...
But with this new movie coming now.... Just saying, if it's not a 10/10 i'm burning down this while planet in retaliation :) kinda like the final Spiderverse that's coming... It has no choice but to be a fucking masterpiece to be remembered throughout all of history. No pressure 💞💞💞

9 years for Eva 4.0, 10 years for this
they really testin' our patience lmao, gonna be well worth the wait though ofc
It might take even more years. Only PV is out, trailer is yet to come, followed by release date. Any news on how long this movie has been in production?
Well, they've already announced work on the continuation of the story in 2019-2020s. At least as stated above, Urobuchi admitted that the script was written two years after Rebellion.

I even liked Rebellion, but honestly, this just feels like milking. Staff is the same, so it might still be good.
It totally is milking and so was rebellion, madoka's story was already complete with just the tv series. It's not really a problem though, I will happily watch more madoka if the quality also follows.
If it bothers people that the story is inconclusive just consider that rebellion and this next movie like an alternative version of the work and that issue is also gone.
I dare to disagree, Rebellion movie was better than the TV series for me.
Calling something that was better, milking, NAH!

Sayaka is not not listed with the cast but her name is actually in the trailer.
Just saying for anyone wondering if she is still with them. MAL team probably just made a mistake here.
ty for clearing that up bud <3

I just don't understand what else they can think of for this? The maximum ship's canon and a happy life for everyone? Or "everyone killed each other"? It always seemed to me that Rebellion had already placed all the necessary accents.
OG end was perfect and did not needed any further contet. Fandom could live forever by osmosis, producing some loldoujins (some decent, mostly just lolship) and fanarts.
Maybe some manga spin-offs are worthy additions, like A Different story (the best among them, actually deserved an OVA) and Oriko (very decent). Others, like Kasumi, Tart and Sumire Magica are kinda meh, to be frank...
Movie 3 was VERY unnecessary.
I'm just afraid that the further it goes on, the further it will turn into fan pandering and artificial plot stretching. They literally have two bittersweet endings with "and the fight continues."

Anyway, I'm hype. I loved the original Series, and the Rebellion Movie. It felt like there was just a little bit more to tell. I was hoping they'd do one last movie to tie everything off.
