Reversal World Battery Girl is a pretty good title for an original anime. The director did a great job in Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun, and having Watanabe Akio as a character designer is always a good thing. The other character designer hasn't worked on that many shows, so I wonder how he'll adapt Akio's designs for the anime. Key visual looks cool.

probably so he'll supervise his designs since Watanabe is busy with Higurashi.

How do I know lol? You don't even need to know about the original manga to see that it is targeted at a male audience (the show has a cool female protagonist, of course it's female-targeted, lol). Seriously, I am amazed at the pureness of today's audiences who are even genuinely willing to believe that shows like this are geared towards girls lol. And yes, all-female does not mean that there are no men on the show at all.

Huh? I thought it was an original anime and not based on a manga??? Also doesn't all female or all male mean that the entire cast is a single gender?

Even forgetting that you are unfamiliar with the iconic original work, this is still obviously male-targeted work. Not always. In most cases, this simply means that most of the important characters are women.

Whaaat?! I haven't watched it yet but Jouran is not all female cast, where did you get that from?!? There's two male supporting characters(maybe more later)!!! Also, how do you know it's male targeted? It seems more female targeted to me.

Should I explain to you what sarcasm is? And yes, BNA is a Trigger anime, so it still mainly sold female characters while male characters were a formality.

@NG_Chloe Jouran has only one protagonist and that is a woman. What's more, given the original work, I'm more than sure it won't have much of a male focus. Not to mention, the all-female concept itself suggests that it is a male-targeted show, no matter how modern tumblr folks has tried to see it as feminism.

Secondly, I will remind you again that my post was sarcasm about the fact that the last announced original animes were all-female. The way you seriously try to argue with this makes me decide that you either do not understand even the most obvious jokes as the person above, or are deliberately trying to attack me for some reason. However, given your love for yuri, I can already see why you were so hurt by the irony about the all-female show, lol.

What a bizarre comment. Last year we got Id: Invaded, Deca-Dence, Akudama Drive, BNA, Great Pretender, Number 24, Appare-Ranman, Listeners, Gymnastics Samurai, and others that were neither all-female nor fanservice-filled.

Sarcasm has to be funnier and more obvious or it just looks like another hot take. I mean, the most recent original hotness was the all-girl WEP, so you could've just had a short memory.

Oh, the classic "I didn't understand the joke, so it's a bad joke." Someone said that I meant the airing original anime, and not the ones that were announced?

And what does "hottest" mean? If the recent shows were 99% all-female, but the most recent one all-male, would you say I'm wrong because the most recent is not all-female? How does it even work?

An original anime that is not an idol show or all-female and seems to be focused on story rather than fanservice? Yes, in our time, this rarely happens.

I don't think it rarely happens, but more importantly, where'd you get all your info?

The article only features staff and a poster

Are you suggesting that a show with such a poster would be all-female or even idol? Okay lol.

As for rarity, it was, firstly, sarcasm, and secondly, nowadays 80% of original shows are either generic idol franchises, or all-female titles, half of which are no different from what MTK publishes.

I wasn't suggesting that at all silly, just questioning your credentials since this could be a fanservice series, as there's nothing to indicate it isn't

Also 80 percent seems like hyperbole, since while roughly half of the originals from winter were all female, the other half were more male oriented

And back in the fall most of the original series were mixed, and in the current season so far Jouran has two female characters and one male

And I would like to point out that pretty much none of these series(based off of the first episodes since I didn't watch them all) were fanservice focused shows, and fanservice is actually really easy to avoid these days

This is all why I question your statements and the fact that you seemingly know so much about this series based off of it's poster
