The official website for the theatrical anime adaptation of Kanako Nishi's Gyokou no Nikuko-chan (Nikuko of the Fishing Harbor) novel revealed additional main cast and a new teaser preview on Friday. The anime is scheduled to release on June 11.

Shinobu Ootake (Karigurashi no Arrietty) is voicing the titular character Nikuko. Flutist and model Cocomi voices Kikuko, Nikuko's daughter, and Natsuki Hanae (Kamisama ni Natta Hi) will voice Ninomiya, Kikuko's classmate.

Ayumu Watanabe (Kaijuu no Kodomo) is helming the anime at Studio 4°C. Satomi Ooshima (Hataraki Man) is penning the script, and Kenichi Konishi (Tokyo Godfathers) is the character designer and chief animation director.

Nishi published the slice of life drama novel under Gentosha Bunko in August 2011. Sugisaku began serializing a manga adaptation on the Comic Boost website on January 29.

Apart from the masterful Berserk Golden Age trilogy and Steamboy I've been ignorant of the amount of quality and unique films Studio 4°C has been releasing. Well, I haven't cross-checked the staff, but nonetheless, I'll keep an eye on this film for sure.

This is going to be one of those genuinely nice movies that nobody is going to watch. Looks really enjoyable, but I don't think there's much hype around it. Personally, I'm looking forward to it.
