Winners of the 66th Shougakukan Manga Awards Announced

The winners of the 66th Shougakukan manga awards were announced on Tuesday.

General
Dead Dead Demon's Dededededestruction
Penned by Inio Asano, the slice of life sci-fi manga began its serialization in the Big Comic Spirits magazine in 2014. Its 10th volume was released in Japan on December 25, 2020. North American publisher VIZ Media released the series' ninth volume on January 19. In addition to English, the series is also being adapted into Spanish, German, and Italian in various regions. Dead Dead Demon's Dededededestruction ranked 18th in the Kono Manga ga Sugoi! 2016 rankings.

Hakozume: Koban Joshi no Gyakushuu (Hakozume: A Police Box Woman's Counterattack)
A slice of life comedy manga written and drawn by Miko Yasu that has been serialized in the weekly Morning magazine since 2017. Kodansha published the series' 15th volume on November 20, 2020.

Shounen
Chainsaw Man
Tatsuki Fujimoto's horror action manga Chainsaw Man was published in the Weekly Shounen Jump between 2018 and 2020. It ranked eighth in the 2020 Manga Taisho Award and fourth in the Male Readers' category in the Kono Manga ga Sugoi! 2020 rankings, before ranking first under the same category the following year. An anime adaptation by MAPPA as well as a manga sequel published in the Shounen Jump+ web magazine was announced last year. VIZ Media licensed the manga for North American release in 2020 and has currently released two volumes.

Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san (Teasing Master Takagi-san)
Souichirou Yamamoto's romantic comedy manga Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san made its debut in the Monthly Shounen Sunday (Gessan) magazine in 2012. The series has since then received two 12-episode television anime adaptation as well as a 23-minute OVA by Shin-Ei Animation. A spin-off manga titled Karakai Jouzu no (Moto) Takagi-san has been published in the web magazine MangaONE since 2017. The manga ranked 10th in the 2017 Manga Taisho Award. Yen Press licensed the manga in English under the title Teasing Master Takagi-san.

Shoujo
Yuzuki-san Chi no Yonkyoudai.
Serialized in the Betsucomi magazine since 2018, the slice of life manga written and drawn by Shizuki Fujisawa follows four brothers and their daily lives after the passing of their parents. Shogakukan published the series' seventh volume on September 25, 2020.

Children
Chocolat no Mahou (The Magic of Chocolate)
The dark fantasy manga by Mizuho Rino is a series of short stories that features the protagonist Chocolat Aikawa. It has been published in both the Ciao and Ciao DX magazines since 2009. Its 20th and latest compiled volume was released by Shogakukan on July 31, 2020. SynergySP adapted the series into a 13-episode OVA, which was released through the DVD discs of the Ciao Ciao TV! bundled with the magazines. A live-action film based on the manga was also announced on January 17.

Duel Masters
An adventure and fantasy manga written and drawn by Shigenobu Matsumoto, based on his previous iteration of the Duel Masters series. The manga was serialized in the monthly CoroCoro Comic magazine between 2017 and 2020. Its 11th and final volume was published by Shogakukan in March 2020.

To those guys who haven't read Chainsaw Man wake up this is the time to read it. Also read Golden Kamuy or watch it.
