New 'Shaman King' TV Anime Reveals Additional Cast, Staff, First Promo

The voice cast are returning from the original anime series, with the exception of Kousuke Takaguchi replacing Shinpachi Tsuji as Bason. Megumi Hayashibara (Slayers), reprising her role as Anna Kyouyama, is also performing both the opening and ending themes.

Jouji Furuta (Nanatsu no Taizai: Imashime no Fukkatsu) is directing the new anime at Bridge. Shouji Yonemura (Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu) is in charge of the series composition, and Toshihiko Sano (Fairy Tail: Final Series) designing the characters. Yuuki Hayashi (Haikyuu!!) is composing the music.
Weekly Shounen Jump began serializing the supernatural adventure manga in 1998 where it ended abruptly in 2004. Jump SQ. ran a reprinted edition in 2008–2009, featuring the series' "true ending." Xebec produced a 64-episode television anime that aired from Summer 2001 to Fall 2002.
Takei published the Shaman King Zero two-volume prequel from 2011 to 2014, and the Shaman King: Flowers sequel between 2012 and 2014 in Jump X. Shounen Magazine Edge began serializing Shaman King: The Super Star, the new arc in the manga series, in May 2018. Kodansha shipped the fourth volume on June 17.

I feel like this reboot is unnecessary...not like it's gunna relieve the trainwreck of the manga lol. Not like Bridge adapting anything is worth checking out tho
It's SUPER necessary. Not only is the original's animation massively outdated making it hard for new fans to get into the series but they also butchered the manga cutting out/changing key scenes which is why fans have been wanting a remake for almost 20 years.

hey, bridge's animation and art all always fantastically adequate. not a bad studio, not a great one, but they get the job done
