Shueisha Announces Gintama Movie [Update Oct 29]

According to Weekly Shonen Jump vol.48 (official release date: October 26th), a movie of "Gintama" was announced. The detail and the type of the movie will be given in the next issue.

At the end of Gintama anime episode 181, "Gekijyoban Gintama Shin-yaku Benizakura-hen (Gintama Movie Crimson Sakura Chapter New Edition)" was announced to be premiered in 2010.

Well,Shinsengumi knowing about the killings is not a bad thing, though I always thought as long as it didn't involve terrorism and threads to national security it was local police jurisdiction. I just hope it won't make Shinsengumi look like ultimate blockheads who missed out on a grand showdown under their noses due to their own total stupidity. Oh, well, we''ll see I guess.

Kamui says, "Uchuu ni wa mada omoshirosou na renchuu ga iru n da ne" - In space/universe there are still bunches of interesting creatures/people/persons/etc (not specified, just living things in general). That's what I hear anyway. Basically the same thing he said during Yoshiwara arc, which irks me a little, maybe because I wanted this realization of his to belong to Yoshiwara arc exclusively.

And I pray it's just Gin's blood loss induced wild dream with Takasugi stabbing him with Benizakura.

After seeing the latest trailer I gotta say I'm worried quite a bit that it's gonna be a mishmash that has little to do with the original manga plot. I mean Sougo telling Gintoki about the fact that Benizakura seems like a living creature?... Takasugi impailing Gin (instead of Nizou doing it)?... Kamui expressing his glee that there still can be found some intersting bunches of aliens?... I have a bad feeling about it...

just finished the arc on the original serie, and i would like to see the arc with a higher budget so im looking forward to this film.

I agree with you. Besides, Benizakura is one of my favorite arcs. I'm definitely looking forward to this movie. ^^

According to ANN, movie will be about Benizakura..Movie's name is Gintama: Shinyaku Benizakura-Hen..

Most of us thought (including me) they're fooling us and it will be about Shirouyasha..
