The official website of the Boku no Hero Academia (My Hero Academia) anime series announced a third anime film on Monday. The film, tentatively titled Boku no Hero Academia: The Movie 3, will open in Japan in Summer 2021.

Production staff returning for the third film at animation studio Bones include Kenji Nagasaki (Boku no Hero Academia the Movie: Futari no Hero), scriptwriter Yousuke Kuroda (Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online), character designer Yoshihiko Umakoshi (Majo Minarai wo Sagashite), and music composer Yuuki Hayashi (Karakuri Circus). Original manga creator Kouhei Horikoshi is serving as the chief supervisor.

Drawing inspiration from his 2008 Boku no Hero (My Hero) one-shot, Horikoshi began the action superhero manga in Weekly Shounen Jump in July 2014. Shueisha published the 28th volume on September 4, with the 29th volume scheduled for release on January 4, 2021. Boku no Hero Academia has a cumulative 28 million copies of its compiled volumes in print.

The 13-episode first television anime aired in Spring 2016, followed by the second, third, and fourth seasons in Spring 2017, Spring 2018, and Fall 2019, respectively—each running for 25 episodes. The Futari no Hero and Heroes:Rising side-story films opened in Japan in August 2018 and last December. A fifth anime season is scheduled to premiere in Spring 2021 (pictured right).

VIZ Media licensed the manga in English through its Shounen Jump imprint in February 2015 and serialized it in their digital Weekly Shonen Jump magazine till it discontinued. The company's new Shounen Jump platform now simulpublishes the manga with the Japanese release. The 25th volume was shipped on October.

I'm guessing he is Deku, and the three musketeers are some outside force we have yet to meet

It’s funny how even fans of the series don’t want this movie aka me. Poor S5. Bones head gonna be on a spike if MVA suffers for this.

Watch the movie or don't watch the movie jeez. Why are people so quick to bitch about everything these days? I guess MHA is the Shounen to hate these days, just like Naruto was back in the day. Same shit different year with this community.

Ain't that the truth

Get ready for season 5 (most of many manga don't have many season's adaptation into anime and mostly have 3 seasons, except tekyuu)

A leaker said that there are two different teams working for the series and the movie. So it will not affect that much and that leaker is very reliable too.Meta liberation arc would be so awesome.

Yo I hope that's true, I don't want to see the best arc in this series get screw up

Yeah that world-building in meta-liberation arc was so sick dude

Haven't watched it from the third season cause the things became wayyyy to repetitive. Didnt watch any movies till now. Aint gonna watch this either cuz, why? Its not like the demon slayer movie which is canon. Plus the Season 4 complaints are still roaming around so... I think i'll wait for this story to complete and then maybe binge the show.

Well then, another cash grab movie, totally can't wait for S5's quality to dip because they probably be putting most of their budget into this...

I don't know, I enjoy Hero Aca, but in season 4 it's formula, and many elements of it's writing, started to get old for me.
I'll enjoy it, I don't have a problem watching series I consider mid
and I understand they want to make as much off of this property as they can since it SOUNDS like the manga is getting close to an end, or at least getting close to it's final arc, if not already on it(nothing has been confirmed yet)

Hmm interesting, I havent read the manga but I doubt league of villians are the final baddies. Surely theirs smth bigger at stake

I could also see them doing multiple phases or whatever, and having the League only be the first phase

Hmm,that's actually quite an interesting idea. The series could also be longer than Naruto
