'Sasaki to Miyano' Manga Receives Anime Adaptation
An anime adaptation of Shou Harusono's Sasaki to Miyano (Sasaki and Miyano) manga was announced in its 39th chapter on Friday.
Synopsis
Miyano spends his days peacefully reading Boys' Love comics and worrying about how girly his face is-until a chance encounter leads to a scuffle with his senior Sasaki. Intrigued by his feisty junior Miyano, delinquent Sasaki uses every opportunity he can to get closer... (Source: Yen Press)
The slice of life school manga has been serialized in Gene pixiv since February 2016. Kadokawa published the sixth volume on March 26, with the seventh volume scheduled for release on November 27. Yen Press licensed the manga in English this August and plans to publish the first volume on January 19, 2021.
Harusono launched the Hirano to Kagiura (Hirano and Kagiura) spin-off in Monthly Comic Gene last March. Kadokawa shipped the first volume in June 2019. The manga will resume serialization in the February 2021 issue in January.
Kotoko Hachijou penned a novel each based on the spin-off and main series in October 2018 and March 27, respectively.

Isn't shoujo with dudes kind of the definition of BL? LOL
But I like it,it's cute and fluffy and romantic and in the case of this series also hilarious :D
Well, IDK, I am a Japanologist, I have been a fan since 2008, held a couple of events, and read a ton of academic research papers... and in a lot of ways, it is :P
As in, BL grew from shoujo, and is mostly written for and by women/girls. The uke is often used as a self-insert vehicle for the female/girl readers since they can identify with them (hence why they are written as feminine). So yeah, it actually, kinda is. :P
I am open for arguments as to why that would not be true, I love fanboying/discussing about my obsession, but they better be good ;)
Though off course more with something like junjou or sekaiichi and less with something like finder or crimson spell...

ngl this one looks like watching paint dry would be more entertaining. i scrolled through the manga a bit and it's essentially just shoujo with dudes lol. it's awesome that more bl is getting animated at all, but yeah no thanks, i'll be skipping this one.

never said you shouldn't support it if that's what you like. i simply find this type of stories boring and dull.
I agree with you. It looks kind of boring.
As someone who has read the manga (several times over) and as someone who finds most SoL incredibly boring, I’m pretty confident in saying that StM isn’t boring. While it might not seem like the most exciting plot, it does have its moments of drama and pain (ones that don’t feel contrived) and it turns so many BL tropes on their heads. StM plays with common BL tropes and kinda pokes fun at them. Don’t get me wrong, It is cute, it’s absolutely adorable, but it’s not boring. I mean, again you could just find it boring but ,,, definitely give it a shot - it’s worth it to at least try.

For those who are unsure about picking up the manga: yes the plot is generic, but honestly if you enjoy fluff and slowburn romance it's a great pick. iirc, the author actually doesn't apply the label "BL" to it and it subverts/avoids some of the common tropes of the BL genre.

It s just my opinion, of course, but I think we, BL consumers, should support every healthy-production of the genre. There is prejudice enough, to us not help a good story of the genre. But, as I said, it s just my opinion.
agreed! Wholesome BL is always welcome imo

I'M SO EXCITED!!!
I'VE BEEN READING THE MANGA SINCE 2016!
Can't wait to see their cuteness being animated.
I'm guessing each episodes will be like 3-4 minutes long like Fudanshi Koukou Seikatsu
I hope they go the Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun route. I want them to animate as much as possible.
